I saw @acpar72 's gold powder coated mask and thought it looked sooo awesome that I needed to get myself one. So I purchased another Rawlings LMWXTI mask for 20% off and will have the one I have now powder coated by Maskit gold. I was thinking something like a day mask with tan TW pads and a night mask with the tradition TI frame and black TW pads.

 

What is the consensus on the color gold as masks? Do you think this color of frame is acceptable?

I won't speak as to whether it's acceptable--I am not the arbiter of allowable accoutrements--but while in and of itself it looks good, I would hate seeing it on an umpire.

 

I am the guy that coordinates harness and pads to what I'm wearing, though. I don't have any gold uniforms.

And what does that have to do with anything? You don't want to wear a mask in their colors, looks like you borrowed it or are wearing their colors and are biased towards them

I'm dropping my in the mail tomorrow, for those that have experience using MaskIt, how long does it typically take for Tony to powder coat it?

Hell I want one now.

 

I have 2 Nike TIs for 2 of my 3 year umps when they graduate HS this year.

I might get them done in GOLD now.

I will ask tomorrow.

Forget you ever heard that. What the teams wear is not important to your uniform. If it was, we'd be SOL in NCAA whenever a team in black played a team in light blue.
