Do the left-handed catchers mess up or make you change some of your mechanics or do you even notice them?  I've seen several lefties playing catcher so far this season.  I don't think I have to change my mechanics much or even alter my stance if there is a runner on 2nd or 3rd.  I had to make sure I peeled out a bit further on a throw to 3rd on a steal attempt last night.

that would be the ONLY thing I can think of ....

strike zone - same

plate size - same

your mechanics - same

Agreed......and to be honest, the higher you go the less you will ever see any lefty catchers.......

Out of the 4 I have seen so far this year I think only one of them would still be playing catcher in HS.  As a lefty myself I love seeing lefty catchers and I root for the day one makes it to the MLB level.

I think all lefties should be put in jail. Have their left arms cutoff so they can learn to use the proper arm!

Exactly...I usually only see 13u left handed catchers.  13u catchers are bad enough, but now the glove is on the wrong side for most batters. :smachhead: I am much more afeared with a left handed catcher.

I tell the coach he is not allowed to use a left handed catcher due to rule 107-5-4c.

The nice thing about this would be that you could beat them with their newly detached appendage until they become normal-er (is that a word?).

And I tell the ump that it's OK to pay with Monopoly money per 123.54.16(f )  :)

Coaches don't pay me so that won't scare most of us away.  Try again!
