Plate. If you have before and after photos when you recieve it, that would be awesome. I will definitely be looking into Tony and Mask It.

I'll put some pictures as soon as I can. I didn't think to take pictures of the damage it had up close before hand but I can tell you it was pretty bad. 2 cracked welds and a bend in the cross bar. I highly recommend using Tony for any mask project you may have. I'm going to send him in my old Honigs K96 frame when I get back from umpire school and have him pimp it out a little bit. Thinking about doing a matte white with black metal flake. Probably won't game it after that but I think it will look pretty cool to display that way.

So here it is. The mostly completed new rig. Not totally sold on the visor look yet and is sans powder coating which might have to wait until next off season) and harness which will be purchased from

I sent my Dynalite mask to a friend who operates a machine shop. He has media blasted the coating off. Last night he brought the "naked" mask to me and pointed out an area that he wanted to grind down

Could be interesting. My mask was supposed to have been here the day before Christmas. However @Thunderheads, in his infinite wisdom, pointed out that it was probably sent Pacel Post (it was) and that is the last of the packages to arrive anywhere. So I sit here waiting for it to arrive.

On a side note. I am considering having my old Diamond worked on. That way I can make sure I have at least one mask availabke next year.

SIGH... yes.

Got an update on the where abouts of my mask. It is now in Federal Way (Seattle) so hopefully it will be here by early next week and I can move on to the next phase.

Mask arrived today. Seems to be in decent condition but a little heavier than I thought. Hopefully, removing the stock pads and replacing them with TW pads will lessen the weight. I also plan on changing out the stock harness for a Honigs one.

Its probably heavier than you're used to .....but its not that much heavier .... its a tank but doesn't look or feel like one

I think the thing that is giving me pause more then anything is it took SO long to get to me and when I opened it, the damn thing smelled like the original owner had smoked 40 packs a day while wearing it. Also the description said that the mask was "new without tags" on the sellers page and bot my wife and I feel that it had indeed been used and was no longer what we would consider new. There are signs of wear on it, the stench of smokex and there seems to be some rust on it.

I was considering not doing the powder coating this year, but I now feel like I need to send it off to Mask It (or some place like it) to make sure the welds are still attached.

This is probably me just being paranoid... but who knows.

looking forward to the visor and putting a Honigs harness on it to complete the look (powder coating still up in the air).

Mask-It is the ONLY place to send it.

I didn't knew that TW pads, Spyder TG and a All-Star frame came in OceanTUGGERNAUTS 3 pack dog toys.  :smachhead:

@BT_Blue, I just got a black Diamond off ebay and it was the same way, the smoke odor was all over it. I trashed the pads and soaked the frame in pine-sol and water and its fine now. Just ordered some new black All Star replacement LUC pads for it.

Mask-It is the ONLY place to send it.

Thinking of just sending it out before SWMBO knows im doing it. Think it is going to run me about $50 on the whole.

I used mask-it and everything was great. Turnaround was a little slow, but I think he had to take a trip out of town for work while my mask was in his shop.

 

Did a great job powder coating and fixing a weld on my MVP4000ti cage.

 

He ran into an issue on my Champro Magnesium. Something happened to it during the heating process and it exploded. He purchased me a honigs frame and powder coated it for me at no additional cost...thought that was a nice gesture. I would have preferred to have my champro, but things happen. I would use his service again in the future.

Like I said, still not totally sold on some things. Csnt wait to actually put it on and see some pitches.

Looks good, ...will look great once powdercoated ...... by the way .... have the spider powdercoated with it! :D

Anyone have any experience with powder coating magnesium? I love my champro, but the paint started coming off of the day I got it 3 years ago. I have painted every year since and all it does is rub off...

I sent mine to mask-it. It exploded after they heated it. Not sure what caused it.

Science caused it to explode. Magnesium and extreme heat aren't best buddies.
