With the season getting closer and closer, any word out there about possible new gear coming out? It's about time to replace the plate shoes from the past 4 seasons, and I'm curious if there is anything new coming out anyone knows about that may be worth looking into. Also, any other word on new gear would be fun to discuss too. But I'm primarily in the market for some new plate shoes. If nothing new is coming out, I'm leaning towards last year's New Balance.

New Balance plate shoes are really good. Replace the shoe laces, though. I have yet to use NB plate shoes and not have the shoe laces shred by the third game and I have had 3 pair.

This year's NB460's will likely be next year's 460's too.

Probably be a new CP or shins for next year from someone though.  Unequal has already released their new shin guards.

Definitely go with the NB460s. They're all-around great. The sole is extremely comfortable, good lasting sturdy shoe, solid protection, and on top of it all, they shine like no other. Great buy if you're in the market for some new plates, and it doesn't look as if any new shoes will hit the market next season. The 460s and Zigs should be the top two.

I found these this morning and ordered a pair. many sizes remain. Great price http://www.ebay.com/itm/350756747420
No wide sizes.

On ebay a store called my shoedepot has a limited amount of wide sizes for $64.99. I have purchased form them in the past and they were good to me.

I grabbed a pair of the Old Magistrates back in June for 64.99 with free shipping. Still in the box. I plan on pulling them out this season to rotate with my 460s. I tried the zigs...not for me.

I love all things Zig except the plate shoe...not sure why.

Haven't tried the Zigs yet.  One negative I heard was that they feel a bit front-heavy.  What felt off about yours?

They felt narrow in the toe area to me. I don't have a wide foot. Never had any problem with other Zigs, but who knows.

I always loved my old Magistrates. Very comfortable. The 460s are great as well.

The Zigs aren't front heavy if you ask me.  However, I went crazy and made the mid version all black and its just too much to constantly maintain with the Sharpie Paint marker. This year I'm going to pick up the low all black zigs.

Thought I had my Zigs in Redding last September but could be wrong (pretty sure I am not.) Love the weight, or lack there of. I guess the one issue is that they do not come in a wide size. But I swear by mine... as long as they are all black. :fire:
