I got ate up in an eval once for a HS game for calling an IMO more egregious balk. Bases juiced, Pitcher in the wind up with hands together in glove receiving signals, pitcher is shaking everything off, then while still engaged with the rubber pulls his hand away from the glove and gives the catcher the "go through the signals again" sign and I balked him. Had a lengthy argument (cant remember why I didn't EJ the coach). But ultimately I was told it's booger picking to call that balk in that situation. 

 

I politely disagreed.

I did the opposite, R3, pitcher comes out of his glove and goes back in. I braincramped and the manager came down asking if I saw him do that. Yes I did. You didn't realize that was a balk? Nope, braincramped. OK, thanks, and he walked away. I was shocked.
