Does anyone do JUCO in the Chicagoland area, specifically Harper College?

A player I know has committed there, great kid (catcher) out of Cincinnati that I met at a tournament last year.

Just wondering .........

WELL, CAN YOU DO THAT LEVEL OR NOT?!?!?!?

I was stumped what that had to do with anything as well.

I wish I did, I used to live less than a mile away from Harper. But I moved here in mid 2005 - just before the Sox win the World Series. Timing! But I digress...

I guess my post isn't very helpful either, huh... :)

Thanks Scrounge ....

Please view my "association name" info, ..... no, I currently don't do College ball at any level, but that has nothing do do with my post and is totally irrelevent.  I wanted to let guys working JUCO in that area know about this kid, nothing more, nothing less.

No Scrounge, your post is fine ;)

Why?  You can't do that level?

I don't understand why this is the fist thing that you can come up with? No Answer to the question, Nothing intelligent to say, Nothing to add to the Original post!

If you took 2 seconds to think before you just tapped out your completely irrelevant post, you would see that he was asking about a specific player, and college! WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH UMPIRING AT THE JUCO LEVEL?!?!?!? :tantrum:  :hopmad:   :banghead:

Honestly whether you are just trying to stir the pot or not, what a totally useless thing to say!

Been there, done that.

Great John ....

Grabbing a Harper College game will be a nice assignment next season.  Good kid, happy for him.  A pleasure working behind him last summer and wanted to pass it along to other who also may run into him....

Had them in a game earlier in the season, only went 3 1/2 innings, then a snow storm finished it. Had the bases though so cannot comment on the catcher

A kid coming to Harper next season from Cincinnati, he'll be a freshman next year

Harper is located in the Northwest 'burbs - Palatine to be exact. He should be pretty 'safe' there as Palatine is a nice community. They have a decent team and last year just missed the Region finals. Right now they are 4-12 and obviously last year's team is not this years team. Their schedule is tough with Kankakee, So Suburban, Aurora U (DIII), DuPage, Joliet, Prairie State, Heartland and Triton on it. Those are playoff and potential national teams. I have not personally worked for Coach Brown (hired in '09) or his Hawks as I am more of a south side guy and do mostly NAIA, DIII. The school is pretty good and I would expect your kid to graduate on time with 3 years of eligibility left if he uses his red shirt smartly.
