I missed Game 1 last night because my daughter had volleyball. But I watched the highlights on MLB Network last night.

But today on talk radio there was equal talk about He-who-shall-not-be-nameds blabbering and Sandoval's 3 dingers and Verlander's lack of performance (He has local ties).

From what it sounds like the Crowd was chanting "Barry" for Zito after getting a hit off of Verlander

He-who-shall-not-be-named said something to the effect of that being a new chant for Giants fans.

Half-a-buck hinted that there was another person SF use to chant "Barry" for.

McIdiot responded with Barry Manilow??????????????

Then apparently even Half-a-Buck took a shot at McIdiot in reminding him of Barry Bonds.

After that there was about 10 seconds of dead air. Which was probably the best things the fans heard on the broadcast the entire night.

And apparently #BarryManilow instantly trended in the Twitterverse. And the radio show I was listening to was being equally hard on him as we can be.

Hopefully someone at Fox will have the common sense to pull the plug before it gets too worse.

I did a quick search on YouTube but couldn't find the clip.

Hes almost as annoying as all the comments that get made about him every year at this time.

Just make a post He-who-shall-not-be-named 2011 +1 and then close it it would save a lot of time and aggravation.

Were not going to get Fox to change so asy the saying goes have the serencity to accept it.

He told me last night - on TWO occasions - that Gerry Davis would only call a strike if it was over the plate.

THAT.IS.GENIUS!!!

Now now - there are a lot of outside pitches called strikes (it's the most common bitch) - Tim was just saying Davis calls just the plate - period.

Maybe if other umpires adopted his stance they could see the outside edge better.

My son and I watched the first 4 innings with no audio. Then the 5th with and finished in complete silence. I was reading and son was listening to music. I can't stand all the extra crap that get's tossed out for a world series. Nothing happened in the game we needed an explanation on.

We watched the game and talked about baseball. Perfect night! :rose:

Some (many?) years back, one of the NFL experimented with anouncer-less broadcasts with just the stadium noise . . . with modern digital technology, it should be easy to have a SAP type function to pick different audio . . .

find the game on satellite radio. Then mute the tv. the delay sucks, but the commentary is MUCH better

Or find the spanish broadcast if you don't know spanish! (I do that frequently to avoid the pain of listening to soccer announcers . . .)

The biggest gripe I have with the announcers is if the man working the plate calls strikes off the plate he has a "big zone". If he calls just the plate he has a "tight zone". Go figure!
