I had to wait for the replay to see it. But stepping across the plate as runner is going is going to get you called for Interference everytime.

Right call but how did the plate umpire see it when he was turned to the side. Good example of why as lesser umpires we need to keep our eyes out front on strikes and outs.

Going to the side on strikes and outs is fine as long as you understand there are certain situations where you must continue to look ahead (this would be one of them).

Most criticisms of ARod and others in his type of position seem to stem from knowing how much they are paid. "Whining millionaires" type comments.

So some boss decides it's OK to pay an employee a huge salary and people take it out on the employee. I've never been able to figure out the logic of that thought process.

Can someone, perhaps you, elaborate on why athletes and CEO's get criticized for their salaries but movie stars don't?

I'm wondering how many folks have turned down salary increases because they felt they were getting enough already.

When you got that job offer letter did you write back that you'd take the job but you thought the salary was too high?

As for myself, I don't care about his salary, I actually love it that baseball has no salary cap and yet small to mid market teams are still able to contend.

To me he it is his attitude. I actually liked him early in Texas. I thought he was a real go-getter with a ton of talent and he always seemed to try hard and make the play. Just a real hard nosed gritty type of player (Granted in my market I didn't see him that much). Then probably 3-4 years ago he completely turned me off. He had a long spell of whining about a lot. I don't remember all of the whining events but one specifically where he was complaining about the way some fans were treating him. There were several interview clips I saw of him where he just had the appearance that he thought way too much of himself. Much like the reason I no longer watch the NBA and barely watch the NFL.

I know the Roberto Clementes, Cal Ripkens, Tony Gwynn... are few and far between but it seems were getting more egos and less true stars in sports now and it is a huge turn off for me.

Seems to be very few career long great players in baseball these days. A lot come up and tear it up for a few years and then for some reason end up being just another average to good player. And yes I understand that average to good in MLB is a great achievement but you know what I mean.
