Going to try to get a better shot of this rig in the sunlight later ....once I got home and got stuff together (had people over for dinner last night) I could only take the pics inside.

So, ... a nice big clear shot to come soon .... Even SWMBO gave me a thumbs up! :D

How would you guys rate durability of the powder coating on the masks?

Probably wont' use it until Spring ..... I'll let Trout chime in when he can though ....I think he's got more games left

Ken, I have taken shots the left ink from the ball on my frame. Wipe the ink off and no damage to frame. It's the same stuff they put on auto parts, motorcycle frames, etc. I'm very pleased. I have 3 frames powder coated, and will have all of them done eventually. My new standard. Do it in flat and it has zero reflectivity [glare]. Txt me if you want pics/details.

Im a known gear junky, so my thoughts are based, but Im really impressed with the efforts of of all you guys here towards the masks and the appearance factors........ and to that end, Ive worked with some guys this fall whose masks are disgraceful..........duct taped pads, flaked coatings and general flithy apearance......

Im sure there is really good umpire out there using a balloon with a faded uni and a trashed mask...........but thats the exception..........of the umpires I know, and am impressed with, and consider them good, they all are concerned with the appearance of the gear......

great work on the mask.....

Sorry to be so late to the party. I stumbled upon this thread as I was searching for a new mask. I've got a couple questions for anyone who's ordered the fm25 from Academy. Are the stock pads leather or vinyl, and is the harness the regular cloth one or the delta flex kind? Thanks for the help.

Vinyl and they come with both so specify when you order ....however ....you may want to confirm with @Jocko ......

At $29 and change..... who cares about the pads? :-)

The pads are garbage. Buy the mask and throw them away. The harness depends on what's in stock. I prefer the non delta flex, but to each their own. Grab the frame and load it with TW. FM25 IS A GREAT MASK
