A few weeks ago I saw a preview at the beginning of "Trouble with the Curve" I rented.

The blonde/red headed ump on the stick is Andy Roberts. Former HWUS instructor and MiLB union prez. He's really an awesome guy.

Saw this tonight. Really enjoyed it. Brought the gf (payback for a brutal chick flick last time). Even she who knows nothing about baseball enjoyed it. A must see for any baseball fan.

I watched it tonight with a guy friend (MANLY TIME TO DO MANLY THINGS) and we both liked it. I wish they had included the World Series, because I don't think we should act like he went out on top, when they lost to the Yankees that year... What WAS there though was excellent.

 

Well other than the guy in the other section of the theatre who laughed like this: "HOOIJOUGIOYFOLUYHJGLYIGBL!!!!!!!!!" louder than the movie speakers themselves to where you couldn't even hear the jokes themselves. That was pretty annoying.

Ahhh, Rickwood Field in Birmingham. The oldest baseball stadium in the world.

 

 

That honour actually belongs to Labatt Park in London, ON.

 

I saw this movie when it opened Friday. Great flick, highly recommend.

 

 

Nicest park I have ever played in.

We've been through this, Bobby... The cardboard cut out of Kate Upton does NOT count as a "gf"! Very funny Matt. For the record it was not just me and her i thought it was a good example of how it's not just a movie for baseball fans.

As will I. My schedule prevents me from attending for at least a week. But Friday night on my way home FoxSportsRadio with Rob Dibble and Amy Van Dyken was on and they were discussing the movie. I called in and they gave me 2 minutes to share the experience through the eyes of a baseball fan on the set. It was pretty cool. Mom saw the movie and said it was fantastic.

For those who saw it, what was the most memorable part?

I've read some reviews that have said it is awful.  Described as a made-for-TV movie with subpar actors and a bunch of racial slurs.  Not so sure I want to blow $20 on it after reading that.

In my experience, reviews are the antithesis of my opinion of movies. If they like it, I don't and vise-versa.

Jackie's teammate sticking up for him with the Phillies' manager. Huge turning point for the whole team.
