Short Sleeve Mock Neck Undershirts

With McDavid no longer producing the short sleeve mock neck undershirts where are you guys turning for your mock neck wicking shirts? I prefer the mock neck over the crew neck and there don't seem to be many quality options.

Honigs makes them, as well as UA but they're sleeveless option (if you can find them). I hope this helps.

Sleeveless is no good for me. How do you like the Honig's CoolSkin? I've asked a couple times here but have not come across anyone who owns one.

I actually bought two of Jim Evan's mock shirts while I was at the academy and I like them better than McDavid. I am sad to see them no longer making them though I love wearing the mock neck tshirts.

If all else fails...

buy Under Armour long sleeve ones and either roll up the sleeves or cut them off.

Nike Golf. They're not compression, but they're made with the wicking fabric. And, of course, they look and feel great.

I use the Adidas ClimaCool. Pricey, but nice.

I recommend either UA or Nike. Both of which DO come in a short sleeve mock.

I have the Diamond Hotspots from Ump-Attire that I have been using for the last 3 years...great shirts, but Jim is doing away with them. I like to look of the mock shirt but I don't really want to spend 30-40 bucks for them either...

I ordered these about two weeks and just sent them back yesterday. I wanted to like them but I just don't. I really like OfficiallySports, however these shirts are, well...$11 shirts. I will leave it at that. They are not of comparable quality to McDavid, Nike, etc. They are certainly priced right, but as with most things you get what you pay for.

Comfort and performance are both important.

I hold out for the good stuff, but in the case of white mocks, I picked up an Adidas long-sleeve compression ($22), two Nike Golf short-sleeve ($15 each), Under Armour Cold Gear sleeveless ($12), in addition to other sweet deals in black mocks, at TJ Maxx and Ross discount department stores. You have to routinely scour the active wear racks, but they spring up. TJ Maxx is also where I scored the black Nike Cold Gear long-sleeve mock for $24, down from $60. I also scored a navy one for $20 that I wear in everyday life.

When it comes to brand-name cold gear and heat gear undershirts, I spell retail: n - e - v - e - r .

They're out there.

Kevin I agree, TJ Maxx is an excellent place to price shop for active wear. I usually buy form one of our reputable baseball websites, but if you look long and hard enough, you cna score some deals at the Maxx.

They must have changed suppliers because when I got them 2 years ago they were identical to the McDavid's. My CBUA mocks are McDavid's and I cannot tell any difference. Hmmmm....disappointing.

I just asked around at my work if we carry any short sleeve mock turtlenecks. And of course the answer is no.

However, Target does carry their version of a long sleeve mock turtleneck. I bought a navy, white, and black shirts yesterday for $20 each. Now to find the short sleeve ones... much much harder.

A company called "Tehama", which is owned by Clint Eastwood, makes golf apparel...They make short and long sleeve Mock golf shirts, moisture wicking, very nice quality, as good as Nike or Under Armour, retail pretty pricey, but I found Black & White color versions, short sleeve, on ebay, brand new, $25 each on sale...They are very nice!

I really like the Mock necks that Jason has in the ABUA store on the other site. They are high quality, and a bit heavier, but are still cool. With the discount, you get them for $17.

These are not ultralight/ultrathin like other undershirts. They are sturdy and hang really well.

I found a Nike loose mock at a local sports retailer, but this one had an MLB logo on the back/center of the shirt.  I've tried finding more of them, but with no luck.

Because I recently purchased several more Under Armour long-sleeve black compression mocks at TJ Maxx for $20 each (compare at $50). They're moisture-wicking Cold Gear. Of course I don't really need them, but that $20 price tag screamed at me. 

 

I took a couple of them to my tailor. (I'm not into the do-it-yourself look.) I had a good experience with having him shorten the sleeves of a UA rugby shirt. So I had him convert a couple of these long-sleeve mocks into short-sleeve mocks. I have those sleeveless Cold Gear mocks in both black and white. You can slip it over another T-shirt of any color (short or long-sleeve). But I'd also like short-sleeve mocks that I can wear alone.

 

The ones my tailor altered look factory made, and he did them for $6 each. So, for $26 each, I have two $45 Under Armour short-sleeve mocks, which are virtually impossible to find. They don't even have them on their own site.

 

So, simply take an easy-to-find long-sleeve mock to your tailor, or dutiful wife, if you have one of those.

 

I require a tailor. All I have to hear is "Six dollars please."

Are they Cold Gear or Heat Gear? Not sure what the need for a short sleeve Cold Gear would be.

Well, the Cold Gear comfortably covers a wide range, and I usually wear them under a jacket. But the main use for a short-sleeve Cold Gear mock is when you're going to wear a short-sleeve or zip-off windbreaker in moderately chilly weather.

 

I do have a couple of Adidas and Nike Golf mocks that are more like UA Heat Gear.
