I have a few of the Champion DuoDry shirts. I love them, they take longer to gather stink. Often these things just can't have the smell washed out of them after a while.

However I disagree about the wear. Mine have developed wear from my CP. Some more than others.

I bought a couple of those Starter brand t-shirts (in black) at Wally World a couple years ago. My advice: avoid them. Yes, they're inexpensive, and they're also cheap. The collars on both of them already look brown, and they didn't get that much use to begin with, so very few washings and very lightly used, but they look bad enough that I'd be embarrassed to wear them now.

By the way, where do you guys get (good quality) mock t-shirts in white? :P

TJ Maxx, Marshall's and Ross.

Marshall's will also have "irregular" Under Armour's ...and a brand called Layer 8.

I have 3 Layer 8's ...navy T, black T, and black sleevless, ...so far so good, ...decent stuff...especially for 7.99!:rollinglaugh:

Layer 8 is pretty good, but for two bucks more the Champion C9's can't be beat IMO. An added bonus is that instead of picking through the rack at TJ Maxx on a treasure hunt for the right color/size Layer 8, I walk right into the Target next door and can walk out with the exact shirt I am looking for in less than 5 minutes, any day of the week.

NO ARGUMENT THERE! :D

I need to try these C9's for sure!! Thanks for the reminder biderider!

I use many of the C9's and like them. They keep me comfortable, look nice and are inexpensive. I also prefer the looser fitting shirts. My physique is much too dangerous to flaunt with a compression shirt.

AMEN BROTHER!!

But under my jersey, who cares? :D

So, C9 has both compression and loose fit?

LOL

I'd need a hydraulically-powered shirt for compression.

Thanks for the tips on the mock T, guys.

Picking through those racks for Layer8, maybe I agree, but for UnderArmour, Nike, Nike Golf and Adidas and Adidas Golf at 60-to-80 percent off it is well worth the time. I would rather wear UnderArmour and gain the comfort and performance benefits, rather than settle for those Champions that they sell at Target. Economical, yes; convenient, yes; but as good a value as UnderArmour at the same price? Not close. I had my fill of those cheap ones in the early years.

I got UnderArmour white and black cold gear mocks for 75 percent off at TJ Maxx. There's no reason to pay $60 for a friggin' undershirt. But there are plenty of reasons to spend some time scouring racks to pay $10 or so for the same shirt, rather than buy a decidedly poorer quality shirt like the Champion for the same price.

And compression is mandatory for endurance and injury prevention. I am 53 years old. I sprint and cut and turn like I did when I was 33. I couldn't and wouldn't do that without wearing compression from ankle to elbow. It is an important area, so why scrimp? If I have time, I do the leg work; if I don't, I pay the man. But I don't cut that corner on the core temperature management and muscle compression. The loosewear may feel or look better, but the compression wear is extremely beneficial to anyone who is running around in the heat or cold, period.

I use the Diamonds...have White & Black in those. I like the fit and the feel. They have a "mock" neck...not a true mock but the collars come up higher than a crew. They are somewhat fitted...meaning they are thighter than my UA loose and looser than my Cold Gear LS that I use during cold days. Tails are long enough not to come untucked....

It's been a while since I last visited Midmoump's blog but visited yesterday and found another comprehensive review by Pete on Performance undershirts.

Check it out:

http://midwestump.blogspot.com/2010/05/comparison-of-performance-undershirts.html

i have a several of mizuno's performance under shirts . i discovered(by accident) them at the local batting cage and training facility , where my son practices ect .... the exact style is called "dry-lite" i believe . they come in all the standard colors , loose fit with a very nice thick mock neck . they seem to be very well made . they are the typical moisture wicking type materials . several umpires in my association asked me about them and have also bought . you wouldnt think of mizuno so much for apparel , but they produce a variety of stuff . mizuno makes quality products IMO .i paid about 21.00 with tax . very reasonable , though not as good a deal as the champion duo that is mentioned for about 10.00 at target .

That McDavid code is awesome...you cannot beat 50% off. I love their undershirts and the hexpad stuff is great as well.

That code will save you some serious money.
