Don't know if this is the one you're talking about, but it's at Amazon for $15.56 with free amazon prime shipping. I got my copy a couple of months ago and they were just over $12, so the price may go down. http://www.amazon.co...ref=oss_product

I didn't complain about it here but I'll give what happened to me as a example. I placed a order and all but 2 pairs of pants were out of stock according to the email notice (and I received a refund for all but the 2pr of pants). When I received my shipment there were only one pair of pants and they were not the size I had ordered. I contacted Ralph and he sent me a label to ship them back (a non pickup label so i had to take the package to UPS, but I didn't really think that was a big deal). He received the pants he had incorrectly shipped to me back and he tells me he is out of stock in the size I had ordered and that he will refund me for the pants that were not shipped and the wrong size pants that were shipped. This means I did not get anything at all from that order. I asked about having the shipping charges refunded since I did not receive anything I ordered (except for the wrong size he sent by mistake). They refused. My only other option would be to chargeback, but it's more trouble than it's worth. Not a real big deal, but I ended up paying $9.99 and I didn't get anything I ordered, plus I had to take time out to bring a package to the UPS store. I'm just guessing, but there's probably a few other guys out there that ended up being less than satisfied. I chalked it up to just being a part of the numbers game...he just got overloaded.

Awesome! Thanks for the info Chris.

That may be a factor. Here are a couple of pictures, one with the plate laced "lower" on the shoe, and the other with the plate laced "higher" (the way I have always worn it). Left is with the laces pulling the plate higher up, and right is with the laces lower so the plate sits lower.

R3 may have been called out using 7.08(a): "Runner believing he is called out on a tag at first or third base starts for the dugout and progresses a reasonable distance still indicating by his actions that he is out, shall be declared out for abandoning the bases." (comment). Not saying I agree or disagree with the call, but that may have been the reason he called R3 out.

Honigs new chest protector

Jeff, yes I was using the older version. I ended up giving it to a younger guy in our association. I bought a Douglas a while back to use (in PONY/Colt and HS) when my WV Gold may not be needed. -
If you really want a list of PAC-10 umpires then just pull up the boxscores of weekend conference series, the umpires are listed. It's rare (even for small colleges) for the boxscore not to list the umpires. I know the JuCo and NAIA schools around here list the umpires in the boxscores on their website or the conference's site.

773.714.6847, Contact Scott Weber (scott.weber@wilson.com). You can email him a copy of your invoice and picture(s) of the problem. I had a small crack at the top of the helmet where the cage is attached. I sent the pics and he overnighted a brand new titanium 2.0 shockfx to me. My original was the first fx Ti model (shorter chin). I can't say enough about Wilson's customer service. You can also contact consumerrelations@wilson.com if you can't get in touch with Scott.

Here's the "cool base" zip-off sleeve jacket for $34.95 (black/silver do look nice): http://www.softballsavings.com/customer/category/product.jsp/SUBCATEGORY_ID/6013/searchWords/cool+base $33.32 here: http://www.esportsonline.com/?sitemid=1262636&websrc=froogle_1262636 -
Order number 7229 for me. I got a email 5 days ago letting me know the ultimate belt, long sleeve CK black shirt, two ball bags, and information wallet were out of stock and I was refunded the price for those. That only left 1 pair of smitty charcoal plate pants (sz 34) and one pair of smitty charcoal base pants (sz 34) that I was charged for and he indicated those would ship. Well I got my package today and the only thing in it was one pair of charcoal smitty base pants (sz 36!). So I am in the process of contacting him to get a refund on the pair he didn't send and find out why I got a sz 36 in the pair he did send. For me, I think it was more trouble than it was worth.

Just wondering? 1. can you challenge obstruction (I don't think so) 2. why would they challenge even if they could? they scored the run, you can't give them anything better than that (award a extra run as a penalty?). IMO, I have no obs

Add another member to the public on that list...me. I thought it was a good strike call, and looking at the side angle only affirms that for me.

+1 Together it all seemed well below "great", IMO.

I can't say for sure that his back foot is entirely out of the box. As for his front foot, it looks to me that it's off the ground when he hits the ball. 6.06 A Batter is out for illegal action when- (a) He hits a ball with one or both feet on the ground entirely outside the batter's box... (emphasis mine)

I think the point isn't if the umpire that made the call wants to go frame by frame to see if he got it right, it's that there are some of us on here that don't do that on every close call another umpire makes. Whether or not they got the call right, or kicked it, I'm not too worried about finding out. Now if it's a "third world" play, or it involves a unique rules application; I'll break it down in the interest of helping me improve. A "bang-bang" play that can go either way does nothing for me, and for me, going frame-by-frame to possibly show a umpire missed a call he made in real time seems more like a "gotcha" that's not worth the effort. Just my opinion...

+1 Well said.

Yes, the PU has the tag. It was R1 and R3 so U2 is supposed to drop back towards the mound and let the ball take him to the play (he has R3 going back to 3rd base). U1 moves to infield between 1st and 2nd (roughly in , he glances for a tag from R1 and BR touch of 1st base if ball is not caught.

~$550, I buy a new pair of base and plate shoes every year and rotate the previous ones to the backup/muddy field position and I added two more pairs of poly-wools to lower the amount of washing they have to endure. The amount is a little higher this year with the addition of a new douglas (wife thought I was crazy because my gold is only 2yrs old), and a new set of hockey referee shin guards (my old ones were a little too lightweight for my tastes). Oh yea, added a officials choice maroon shirt...j/k

If you are questioning the quote, it's taken word for word from pg. 121 of the 2010 Official Rules of Major League Baseball., 7.08(a), "PLAY"

We have always been taught to start in FOUL territory when in D or A. I Don't have the CCA handy but we are in foul territory in all of the 3-man juco/college games that I have ever done. The MLB Umpire Manual indicates foul territory for 4-man and PBUC indicates foul for 3-man. Did a quick search for LL 3-man and 4-man and most sources I saw indicated foul territory. I do not have a "official" source to back up the LL positioning so I'll just assume you are talking about LL mechanics when you say straddle the line or start in fair territory. I would think if you are going to get hit, it would be much better for it to be a foul ball (knock on wood, I've never taken a shot down either line).

In a sense, she will have to "umpire" our 4y/o... she's a RN that works nights and I work from home so most of the time I'm there when she's at work or sleeping. The vacation is because I won't be there at all and she's scheduled to work that weekend. She did throw it out there that if she got vacation they could come along and make it a trip for them...I then reminded her it was Atlanta, IMO the best thing about Atlanta is the airport! Not the greatest tourist destination, (once again) IMO.

I'm waiting to find out if better half can get vacation for those dates...if she can, I will be going.

On the home page they have this statement: "We have more Major League Umpire instructors than any other school in the country. Check them out on our "Instructors" page." In looking at that page I didn't notice any MLB umpires. A few former MiLB guys but maybe I missed it. At any rate, I doubt they have more "Major League Umpire instructors than any other school in the country". http://www.strikezoneumpires.com/Instructors.html Top of above page says: We have more major league umpires than any other school in the country...

Hey GBR, a question about the "jumping ump video" on the facebook link http://www.facebook.com/video/?id=100001300381601#!/video/video.php?v=100498023336877 Is that some kind of LL mechanic that calls for U3 to start inside fair territory instead of foul?
