The long-sleeve-under-the-short-sleeve-uniform look is a cardinal fashion sin.

Even better is the fact that the players aren't wearing any cold gear. Why does he even need a long-sleeve compression?

He must be a friggin' skateboarder.

Pretty sure this guy was behind the plate for the TCU-FSU opening game of the College World Series today. Was wearing the CP with UA decal. His mask had two UA logos. UA must sponsor this guy!

The box score lists him as A.J. Lostaglio. He did a nice job.

I heard the radio broadcast of this guy. He was giving a lot of locations on the balls. Is this an "upper-level" college mechanic?

no this is not a Upper level mechanic... but some guys do it, they says it lets the dugouts know where the pitch is, so there is no asking.

anyone see the Plate umpire in Game 1 of the CWS wearing a UA mask..looked pretty good.

Hey Mazza, yeah, that's the same guy that's been in pictures on this site as well. He's got a UA sticker on his CP as well...............

The guy who did the UCLA-Florida game missed so many pitches, I stopped counting.

I agree...he "looks" good but does not look good....if you can follow. I was not impressed with his zone or mechanics behind the plate. Somebody thinks he is good :fuel:

That McDavid code is great. Just saved a bundle.

I hope it never expires because I can always use more.

Trying some of their crew neck shirts for the first time along with the compression leggings and mock neck shirts I know that I love.

Latest T.J. Maxx UA score: white and black sleeveless cold gear compression mocks for $9.99 each, down from $30 each]

I must be missing something here... UA makes (and you buy) cold gear ... without sleeves?!? :Horse:

Yeah, I guess it was just too difficult for him to buy a long-sleeve uniform shirt to wear over that. :Horse:

And I'm looking at this photo and wondering, "Where is he going? What's he doing? The batter's there... the catcher's there... both looking toward him.... and he's walking out of the circle with a ball... hello?"

It's a mock-neck sleeveless vest that gives an extra layer of protection to the core when you're wearing a jacket. I've been able to go with two layers rather than three when wearing one of these things (long-sleeve crew with sleeveless cold gear mock over it rather than sleeveless crew, long-sleeve crew, short-sleeve mock).

No comment from me. He's working a college world series, and I'm watching it on TV. :Horse:

Well, that's nice for the core of the body... but hypothermia starts in the extremities and works it's way to the core.

FWIW, I bought UA's Cold Gear 2.0 (long sleeves, of course) it's great stuff, and I was able to get it 50% off at a "Ski & Board Sale" here. :Horse:

It still looks dorky. Almost as dorky-looking as those smocks the MLB guys are wearing.

I agree, but I live 5 minutes from a D1 university, and some of the guys that come through here regularly look bad and have so-so mechanics.

Instead of college or MLB, I learn from minor league umpires. I watch several AA & AAA games each year, and those guys are trying to impress their superiors each and every night. They obviously dress alike, but I like to watch the mechanics.

What I get most from the MiLB guys is their hustle. They hustle into position, and then they hustle back to their original spot. They don't walk anywhere. That is the one thing I've tried to pattern most in my game.

I was working a Weekend series with a guy who is on the resvere list for PBUC, and he has a Smock/ short sleeve jacket, and he wanted to wear it the 1st game, so I said ok. ( i do not have one, so my other partnee let me wear his)

it got quitwe warm... so on day 3 he wants to wear one again, this time I said no ) I pulled rank, well it was age).. and we went short sleeve shirts, he kind of complains later about it being cold.. I said what is the difference between these shirts and the jackets?... he couldn't answer me.. well cause the MLB guys wear them I need too.. everyting thing with this guy was Proball, this and Proball that..LOL

IMO the zipp off sleeve jacket is nice but its lazy.

who is this umpire?

A.J. Lostaglia ...he was doing the plate last night as well ....

In the picture, Brian is asking where he's going ...well, ...if you saw the game last night,...you know where he's going ....out and around and in front of the plate area so he can throw it to the pitcher.
