I have always enjoyed watching the PGA, but have never actually tried it. I am the type of person that would want to spend too much time doing it and I can't afford it or have the time for it.

I LOVE golf.

The problem for me is that it is expensive. I wanted to go regularly with my two boys, but paying for three rounds is crazy money.

So we umpire together instead.

There are a couple guys I go with, but they work weird hours and usually go on Monday mornings, which is when the warden expects me to be in my cage.

A rec course here in the SoCal Desert is about $48 + 12 for a cart.

You can get on the PGA courses in La Quinta for $79 IF you go during the summer and IF you tee off after 9am. But La Quinta at 9am is 102° and 109° when you are "done" at noon. Otherwise it's hard to find a PGA course for less than $200.

12 at the rec course. 16 at La Quinta Dunes.

Aside from new gear every now and then all of my umpire checks support my golf habit. 2-3 times a week when the weather cooperates. Currently plaing to a 9.

I gave up playing baseball, becaue I couldn't hit a curveball. I play golf now, and it's all i can hit.

I play as my schedule allows. Used to be a 14, went up to a 26 and now back down to a 18. I got to play every Wednesday evening this summer with my 20yo son. $18 each at a local course after 4 PM. Having him look forward to spending 4 hours with me is priceless.

Unfortunately, I can hit a curveball, too.

My whole game is a handicap. But I love to chase the little white ball around.

I use to play golf much more, but don't play at all any more. I really want to get back into it. The sad thing is I live in a golf community and my children play with the kids of the former course pro and I haven't taken advantage of it.

As LMSANS can attest we have no shortage of golf courses in my area. Everything from small nine hole to pro courses.

I play once a year. Me & 3 friends head down to Ocean City, MD to play 3 - 4 rounds in 3 days. This is right down the road from Mike, so one year he took us to one of his local fields to watch a game and then the next year we met Mike at a DelMarVa Shorebirds (Low A) game. Rounds out a fun trip.

I love golf. I have been playing since I was 12 yrs old. I was a 5 handicap when I was 20. Now I am a 15-20. I just can not afford to play anymore. It cost way to much to play in the North Fl area. Plus just can not justify the expense anymore.
