Not sure if anyone else noticed this however, it looked like home plate umpire Doug Williams was wearing a nike plate shoe today in the NCAA super regional in VA. It almost looked like 2009 version of the TW golf cleat with a metatarsal plate on it. Anyone else see this, or have any comments on this?

Years ago TIM C. was working with Nike on a plate shoe prototype.......but if I recall correctly it never went any further than protoype......Now it seems as if its more developed......I am interested as I always was more of a NIKE guy than reeebok.......

Nice but I can not wear Nike's they are to narrow.

Narrow? :agasp_:

What size of foot do you have....the web foot or the paddle foot???? :cool2:

I can't find any shoes narrow enough! To be sure they don't make turf type shoes or plate shoes in 14A size...all of mine have to be modified in some way to fit.

You do know that besides getting the proper size you ,must ensure you get the proper width?

Thats why they also have width in the size.

Why yes I do understand that dry.gif . Just a personal prefernce is all. They have always ran narrow for me. Just not a fan of them. To each is his own. Add yes I have a wide foot and wear orthoticts.

Doug is based out of College Station, TX. I called high school baseball with him about 10 years ago. several guys in that area during that time had Nike Logos sewn on Honigs plate shows. They had it done at boot and shoe repair places. College Station has lots of good leather shops because of the boots that are produced for the seniors that are in the Corp of Cadets at Texas A&M.I assume he still has the same thing done now. You might get some info straight from him. He works at the College Station Honigs location.

I have looked all over the web for these shoes. Anyone found them?

What shoes?? Read Slo's response above mine ...they are Honig's shoes w/ a Nike swoosh stitched on

I am sure there could be a copyright issue, but the ones he used to wear weren't exactly a swoosh, but resembles it.

Taking a pair of shoes or anything for that matter and having some type of trade mark added to the item is just a little over the top for me.

Talk about vanity and insecurity. :kissass:

i agree with semper. this guy has problems mentally lol. its kind of childish doing that. oh well, if it makes him feel good and now that everyone knows he doctors plate shoes to be cool or be the only with a pair of nike plate shoes that do not exist...all the power to him.. where i come from , a guy that does these kind of things is called a MALAKA... BIG MALAKA

As if the the Big Swish needs another pimp. I have heard of taking off a logo that you are not being paid to wear but attaching a logo to someone elses product? This doesn't even make sense on any level.
