ISO: New Balance 450 plate shoes size 12-13
HM_SanDiego replied to ChrisUrbz's topic in Buy, Sell or Trade
My first plate shoes were the mu450’s and I wore them for almost 10years. They started off fairly heavy, but very protective, and when I hung em up in the garage, they had gained weight -lol. I replaced them with the mu460’s v1, and sincerely, I think you would be happier and likely more successful in finding the 460s. If you can find em, the 460’s are going for $80-$90. The 460s are quite a bit lighter, and more comfortable than the 450’s. I am not a huge fan of the 460’s v3, estetically, but they are the latest and greatest available. Good luck in your search. -
If you are a member, the ABUA version is the best price @ $16.95 each, in red, white, black, & navy. otherwise, the Jim Evans, ABUA, & Honigs are all $20.00 each not many other options that I have been able to find.

Hey Kyle - yes - I had my champro magnesium mask stripped and custom powder coated - in your back yard (San Marcos) - no problems what so ever! I think the key is talking to who ever is doing the work ahead of time. agreed - I think the champro mag is the best rig available - light, durable, and loaded with team Wendy's pads, the best setup in my opinion. feel free to contact me - I was at RBV a few weeks ago, and I have a few more games near you in the next few weeks - would be happy to discuss any questions you might have. HM

Jo would you be willing to work a trade + cash from me - I have a new platinum - I would trade my oem padding for your team Wendy's padding + cash from me

Wilson MLB Platinum West Vest w/Team Wendy pads
HM_SanDiego replied to G-ManRVA's topic in Buy, Sell or Trade
Would you consider a cash $ and trade - I have a brand new platinum - I would trade the new oem padding for your team Wendy padding + cash from me -
+Pos is in fact still in business. Understand that it is, and has been for quite some time, a 1-man operation. If you need help, as stated, I recommend calling Dan, and once you catch him, discuss your situation. I have purchased and received several items in the recent few years, and all went well. I even had a mask weld crack, and it was replaced with little complication. Good luck

I will offer you $120 cash for the Wendy's padding (we split shipping) - AND - I will send you a brand new set of oem Wilson platinum padding. you keep your cp shell and harness. this will allow you to have a solid / complete platinum chest protector to use or sell. let me know what you think

The NB Plate shoes on Amazon are the "newer" MU-460's model (NOT the original MU-450's). The MU-460's are SIGNIFICANTLY lighter the previous model 450's. If anyone is in need of new plate shoes and can get the MU-460's on-sale and delivered for anywhere near $80.00 - DO IT!

Davey - is in the Greater San Diego area. The demo video was in fact filmed at Cal. State San Marcos, in North San Diego County, and that is Mike Winters (MLB Umpire) observing (he lives in Oceanside, Ca. I believe - North Coastal San Diego County), although that really doesn't mean much in the way of testing or product review. I have no personal experience with him or his "Davey Strap", but, the idea and premise appear to enhance the idea of properly wearing a mask which is and or should be setup to disperse the energy of a baseball contacting the mask. Small world for what its worth story - last year I was selling some extra gear, and he called me asking about it; telling me he had recently had all of his gear stolen out of his car. He asked me a few questions about my gear for sale, then asked me if I knew about his Davey Strap, told me about himself a bit, and then he offered me a short "pitch" about the strap, then asked about a bargain "help a brotha out" price for a couple items I was selling..... Interesting "character" for sure. Good luck out there - Spring Baseball is HERE!!

For what its worth - I have the Delta Flex on my Gold AND my Platinum chest protector - love them both. In the case of the Gold, before I lost some weight last year, I took the DF to a local seamstress and had longer straps sewn on to allow larger adjust-ability (some guys have reported on here that they have cut-up and used the straps from the original Wilson CP harness, which seems reasonable unless guys want to have a spare or be able to put the CP back to oem configuration, but that is not necessary in all cases), as umpire sizes vary, widely. So - something to consider, if you want to keep your Platinum CP, or for anyone who might buy it from you - there are options. Baseball season is HERE - on the West Coast!! (I have 4 games next week - woohoo)

I have held the Wilson titanium masks - and still believe that the magnesium masks (champro / +pos) are lighter.....I have three magnesium masks.....
