there is a guy on here now with the Diamond iX3 for sale - make him an offer and order the TW pads - OR - simply order the Honigs mask in black or silver already loaded with TW pads - those are the best 2 price and performance options right now - in my opinion - if neither of those 2 options appeals to you - as most others have advised - order your mask of choice and a set of TW pads and call it done - Happy Shopping!

Yep the ABUA "discount" is 24% and is actually quite significant considering the regular retail prices - it would be $330.00 + $9.95 shipping right now based on the member pricing so @ $250.00 + $9.95 shipping = $80.00 savings "Each shin guard weighs slightly more than 1.5 pounds!!! Available in three sizes, 14.5", 16.5" and 18.5". Shin guards will also come with a FREE carrying/travel nylon bag, a $9.95 value. SPECIAL OFFER - Buy a set of shin guards and an Unequal Chest Protector for only $249.95!!! Package price is valid only for a limited time and will increase when the shin guards arrive from the manufacturer." Additional shipping may be required if items are shipped separately. UE Shin guards = retail price $119.95 / ABUA login account price $99.95 UE CP = retail price $279.95 / ABUA login account price $229.95

On Aug-15-13 at 05:10:11 PDT, seller added the following information: PLEASE DISREGARD THE LISTING PIC. I UTILIZED A STOCK PIC FROM GOOGLE IMAGES AND DIDN'T REALIZE THAT IT WAS A PIC OF THE WRONG MASK. THE SECOND PIC WITH THE PEGBOARD BACKGROUND IS OF THE ACTUAL MASK WHICH IS A TRUE WILSON TITANIUM MASK, NOT A FAKE! WE ONLY SELL AUTHENTIC MERCHANDISE AND WE ARE A FULLY AUTHORIZED WILSON DEALER. UNFORTUNATELY, IT WAS TOO LATE IN THE AUCTION BEFORE I REALIZED THIS ERROR AND EBAY WILL NOT LET ME TAKE THE WRONG PICTURE DOWN.

Question on the easton speed elite...as durable as the Diamond? I saw one online and I can't find a website that states what its made out of. Mask looks sharp and with some black TW's it'll look sharp on the field. I am pretty sure the Easton Speed mask is a hollow-core steel cage (there are a couple guys that posted pics of them in this thread and that use them) - similar in build to the Nike, sporting the rounded throat guard area, and physically about the same (almost identical) as the +POS ZRO-G ($59.95). Both the +POS ZRO-G and the Easton Speed have fabric pads and are priced almost identically - I would not be surprised at all if both came from the same manufacturer.

When i saw it posted i saw the bars n knew it was a diamond. The really interesting thing is that this mask is "billed" or listed as a new mask, by Wilson item or model number, and comes with "store receipt" for warranty.... It would be really interesting to see what shows up to the winning bidders doorstep..... Given what is pictured it would cost someone about $110.00 to knowingly buy that setup......

I will hazard a "guess" - that the Honigs mask and Wendys pads weighs in about 20 oz.
-
The Honigs Silver mask is NOT the Diamond mask cage (whereas the Gerry Davis "is" the Diamond)..... That said - one of my buddies uses the Honigs mask in Silver - it is "not" textured - like the Diamond cage - the Honigs is a smooth Silver color finish. Kylejt - - I agree - the Honigs w/Team Wendys pads is probably the best-bargain, and is a great setup - dollar for dollar - as good as one can get for the money. The umpires and the following for the Titanium and or Magnesium masks/rigs is gaining popularity - pair a Magnesium cage with Team Wendys pads, and it makes up the lightest setup with arguably the most shock absorbing/deflecting setup available. So - this thread started off with a fella looking for a silver mask cage (he already purchased the Team Wendys pads) - and the discussion has offered the currently available options. There are a couple "other" threads that discuss whos thinks which is better........ ;o) It's FRIDAY! Have a great weekend y'all!

Hey there - I suppose I stand corrected - if Gerry Davis still has and sells the ice gray / silver Diamond mask cage - if they do, it is still $10.00 more than the Honigs. I called Diamond in So. Cal. and they do not offer the silver mask cage alone at all - my suspicion is that once any that are available from retailers are gone - that will be the end of that.

Hey "bryan59" I just posted 3 masks for sale in the buy/sell area - if you are still looking and are interested let me know.
-
Jocko - I saw your mask in the Equipment section - the copper color is pretty cool looking for sure. I took 3 masks into the local powder coat shop intending on going with a matte-silver finish and then I saw the alternative color with texture look and feel (that I chose which is essentially the same as your copper mask) - I decided to try something more unique and it should hold up well - we shall see -
-
Jocko - the powder coat is a silver base with black "wrinkle" effect - the color designator is labeled by the shop I used - I have to say I love it!

yikes!! 1st 4-man crew for you - on a Championship game?! And a World Series game to boot?! That sure doesn't feel like setting you up for success..... These are the basics in our area - there are some more advanced mechanics that can be added/amended based on the crews experience - but this is a starting point for the 60ft and 90ft diamond Pregame Umpire crew meeting/conversation is a MUST! U1 in A, U2 in B, U3 in D starting positions - PU has all catch/no-catch (fly-balls) unless someone goes out (generally - if an Umpire goes out - they stay out for that play - no other responsibilities) - PU has fair foul up to the front of the bag (1b & 3b) - U1/U3 have fair/foul bag-and-beyond (unless either U1 or U3 have to vacate the line for any reason - then PU has fair/foul down the line) - ground ball in the infield - PU trails the batter/runner (BR) up the line to help with "information" on pulled-foot, swipe tag - and PU has running lane violation responsibility - U1 has all plays at 1b, U2 has all plays at 2b, U3 has all plays at 3b, and PU has all plays at the dish - No runners in scoring position (NRISP) (no runners or R1 only) - trouble ball hit to the outfield or even all fly balls hit to the outfield (all depending on the age level, competency of the players, and the conditions of the field --- if U1 goes out, PU comes up the 1b line & covers 1b touch and any play - upon full release of BR to 2b, PU retreats to the dish - U2 has plays at 2b, U3 has plays at 3b --- if U2 goes out - standard "wheel" rotation - U3 (hustles) busts into the working area for plays at 2b, PU comes up the 3b line for all plays at 3b, U1 has BR to 1b and upon full release of BR to 2b, U1 comes down to cover the dish for any play --- if U3 goes out - PU comes up the 3b line and has all plays at 3b, U2 has all plays at 2b, and U1 has BR to 1b and upon full release of BR to 2b, U1 comes down to cover the dish for any play U1 in A, U2 in B, U3 in D starting positions (U2 inside the working area on the 90ft diamond): - With runner(s) in scoring position (RISP): --- PU and U3 are essentially locked in place (exception = U3 can & should go out on fly ball hit down 3b line) - if U1 goes out, U2 has all plays at 1b and 2b, U3 has all plays at 3b, and PU has all plays at the dish - if U2 goes out (60ft diamond) - U1 has all plays at 1b and 2b, U3 has all plays at 3b, and PU has all plays at the dish - if U3 goes out - U2 has all plays at 2b and 3b, U1 has all plays at 1b, and PU has all plays at the dish -- When rotations occur, if there is an appeal at a base an Umpire rotated "to" - step up - loud & proud and make the call -- when unwinding from a rotation, do "not" take the spot back or give the spot up "early" - head-nod or "I've got it" works fine -- line drives in the infield - below the waist - closest Umpire to the play "should" make eye contact with the PU and the Umpire with the best "angle" make the call AFTER making eye contact with partners and specifically the PU - to ensure no double calls - PU will come to U1/U3 with check-swing appeal (ONLY respond to PU request - no response to player/coach) - go over signals or signs - in-field fly on/off, outs, lost the count, staying "home" with RISP, time-play with 2-outs, etc... - hustle, hustle, hustle...... Hope your game went well.....
