The ball is either live or dead, period. There is not another option. Talking with the catcher will clear up the problem.

I guess it depends on your age somewhat. I'm in my mid-50's now. Last 3 years: 2008....76 games 2009....82 games 2010....101 games I'm getting a little picky I guess. I work JC, NAIA, Div. 2 and 3 and high school in the spring. In the summer, it is mostly 18-under select and I work our local NABA league as well as assigning. It's too hot here in the summer for me to want to work more.

If, while making an explanation, the coach used any of the statements you have in quotes, I would tell him "we're done here, go back to your dugout/box". If he persists, he has questioned your rules knowledge, your integrity and your judgement, dump him.

Actually only 3 companies. DeMarini, Combat and Louisville Slugger. Vendetta is actually a DeMarini model.

Maybe a "Knock it off, coach!", might have been in order. If he persists after that, then restrict him or dump him. Kind of a HTBT though.

2011 season begins here April 17th.

It must have something to do with the weather warming up, but, in my last 7 games, a total of 17 games this season, I have now seen 9 homeruns with the BBCOR bats.

In my 10th game of the young season, I saw my first home run with a BBCOR bat. The only park that this shot might not have been out of is Yellowstone.

In 8 games so far, ZERO home runs.

Sometimes, you just have to umpire.

Played 2 7-inning, non-conference, Div. 3 games today. Sunny, about 45 degrees. Scores were 7-0 and 4-3. First game 1:50, second 2:05. Awesome. Great to be back on the field.

OK, it's supposed to be sunny and 50 degrees Saturday. I can't wait!

So, you guys get $7.86 per inning? Strange rate.

The only problem I have here is that your leg being there could potentiality cause a problem for the catcher in the event F1 throws a 55 footer, especially if it bounces inside. From what Warren is saying, I don't picture your foot/leg being that far up so that it would hinder the catcher. If you're that far up, I think you're too close anyway.

I do still use the belts, though.

First college game, NAIA non-conference, coming up Friday. It's supposed to snow. Gonna be a long, cold year!

Hope you try these on first. You'll be very suprised how short they both are. They cover the ribs but that's about it.

In Tennessee, we were supposed to get a $5.00 raise this year to $70.00/game and raise the DH rate from $85 to $100/game. The schools balked at the DH rate change and we did not get either one.
