  1. Do you have to land on your head for it to be a dive?
  2. PU was watching the touch (1st BL extended) and U1 was watching the base. Only help was U2.
  3. Would anyone have an out here on the slide in FED?
  4. I carry two, two headed coins!
  5. I can’t see the line up card! Read the fielder. Their first reaction usually tells it all.
  6. I would say if the fielder has the ball, the onus is on the runner to slide, avoid or give themselves up. An illegal slide could be an option. Sometime you just have to umpire.
  7. That’s not a foul ball! That’s a catch. A foul ball is dead. I was trying to convey that when the OBS happened on a foul ball, how would you justify awarding a base. We rule on the oder in which violations occur, absent MC, but in this case, OBS occurred on a foul ball when no advancement is possible.
  8. Does any runner advance on a foul ball?
  9. I believe we tend to interpret this rule as in FED 6-1-3 Not quoting here…During any preliminary motions (coming set) the pitcher may feint or throw or step off.
  10. No. I don’t think you can do it without runners on. You don’t have to come set with no runners

  13. With R1 the shift is on to the right side with a lefty up to bat. R1 steals on the pitch as the batter hits a high bounding ground ball to the right side. R1 seeing there is nobody covering 3B as F5 takes a late throw from F6 on the CF side of 2B. R1 continues to run touching the inside part of the base and will make it to 3B easily… NCAA ruling…?
  14. That’s malicious!! Throw him out! He went in standing up! WTF
  15. What play was he attempting? The play @ 2nd is already over! The FPSR was specifically created to eliminate illegal contact on the pivot, or IOW “breaking up “ the DP, ILLEGALLY! Going in standing up is NOT illegal unless what? Even sit Y makes sure to mention that there was contact with R1. why? If they want a FPSR called in the OP, why not make the CB play without any hindrance at all? Maybe because it’s not?! @MadMax I truly don’t think not calling this goes against the rule as written. On my way to a game where I’m NOT calling this a FPSR violation
  16. Q1. Your call in this situation. Q2. No. Not as described.
  17. Going into the base standing up is not in and of itself a violation of the rule. I guess FED still hasn’t clarified this enough yet!
  18. What did R1 INT with?
  19. Sounds like INT on R2. R2 is out, R3 returns with BR to 1st. Now 2 outs with runners on the corners.

    Infield Fly Rule

I seem to remember a lengthy discussion last year, or 2, on this. It began with defining outfielders vs infielders at the TOP which led to this topic. Maybe if you rub the lamp @Senor Azul may grant your wish
  21. Absolutely not! Around here, PU and BU make the same amount per game
