When umpires disagree on a base award, this falls under 9.01c in the rule book and the umpires should have a dance off to settle the dispute. My favorite song for dance offs is, "Everybody Have Fun Tonight" by Wang Chung, or "Dance Fever" by the Bee Gees!! I will throw out 'Working for the Weekend' by Loverboy and the dance would be something like Patrick Swayze and Chris Farley do for Chippendales.

I think many of us umpires would respond similar to major leagues players and umpires. They enjoy the season but the off-season is a nice time to recharge the batteries and look forward to next season

3.4.1 you get 3 charged conferences during a 7 inning game before you must take out the pitcher. If the game goes extras you get one charge conference during each extra inning before you would need to take out the pitcher. So in your example, theoretically, if the game went to extra innings you could potentially have 4 conferences before a pitcher would need to be taken out.

Same here, I have always just folded them up. But I do like the idea of having something a little more sturdy. It would also provide a little more protection in the case of rain.

I'm going to be taking the required online FED exam for the state of Iowa here soon and wanted to get your opinions on the best approach to really get the most out of it. I have taken the test many times before but this will be my first time after a 5 year hiatus. As an education major I want to use the test more as a learning tool than an simple assessment. In addition, any advice on how to identify some of the the questions that would potentially be called differently under other sets of rules? All of the rules discussions on here point out that there are different rules at different levels and I would like to learn a little more about those differences as well. Thanks guys and gals!

Only if players surround them in a half circle snapping their fingers during said dancing... What happens if they do the wrong dance, make it rain, and the game is suspended/canceled?

Just make sure you know which set of rules you're using and double check to make sure you have all your equipment. Who knows if you will need to hop behind the dish. Have fun!
