MiLB wants it 2 ways.. either lower in the slot, or up and back. and working up and back.. you really need to look and read the cathers glove. 1 more thing.. you are gonna lose the pitch for a quick sec, that is gonna happen, just keep looking and the ball will come back into view.

R1, R2, no outs, 3-2 count. B1 strikes out and immediately starts for first. After both feet have touched the ground outside the batter's box, B1 unintentionally kicks the dropped third strike. R2 is stealing on the pitch, but R1 is not... a.The batter is out on strike three. R1 and R2 stay at second and third. b.The batter is not out on strike three. The defense must throw out B1 at first on the dropped third strike. R1 and R2 remain at their advance bases. c.The batter is out for interference. Both R1 and R2 must return to their TOP bases. d.The batter is out on strike three. R1 stays at first, but R2 is allowed to stay at third. what do ya got.. use what ever rules set you want..LOL

Ok that clears things up... and good job for not moving out with the catchers, lots of young untrained umpires like to move with him, cause they feel vunerable to being hit..

leaning forward does not make you in the slot more... it just makes you closer to the catcher. Moving your feet and body to the area between the batter and the catcher is the slot.

Any one have any issues with that CP? No .. I know plenty of DI umpires who wear this vest.. remember it is the hard shell plastic that is helping you...

Yes you should your head up and down, that is what is taught, now if the catchers goes really low.. then stay at a certain point.. but evaluators look for those things.

A good reason is this.... If maybe your touching him and the games starts to go the wrong way, he might turn it on you " hey get your hands off my back" then the coach might hear it and it can turn ugly fast...

Ok.. I know for a fact, in most if not all DI conferences the Base umpire WILL NOT carry an indicator on the bases... I know bible says something..but ask a conference coordinator, ask guys who have been to the CWS, or even upper MiLB guys and see what they think.

Please dont talk about the apex of the ball... we as umpires should sign al the IFF when the fielders are apble to catch the ball with "Ordinary Effort ".. that is when we call it... the umpire shouldnt even be looking at the ball.. the players will tell us everything we need to know. i.e.... if its windy the players will be moving all over to catch it right..

at school last year we did say "FOUL BALL"... then at PBUC we said "FOUL".. it changes every year.. in 2010 at Harry's they said "FOUL"...

Which one? Weren't you the one that said you could tell the difference in their plate mechanics? ' I watched 3 sec of the PU..and can tell you he went to school...the plate mechanic are pretty much the same.. it is the base mechanics that you can telll... But I would guess he went to Jim's.

Yes Sir Troy. That was our pro mechanic Has it always been that way? I know the NCAA just switched to this last year I believe. I thought the pro mechanic had the BU covering all bases if the ball stayed on the infield? Pro been like this at least 7 years i know....

Are you serious? If I made $350,000 for nine months' work, I'd have 78 pairs of polywools to rotate. MiLB umpires don't make that much change. Plus, MLB umpires don't pay for their clothes. I read M-L-B. The Hideman sneaked that little i in there after the fact. your killing me Kevin...

Kevin... i have a pair that i bought in feb 08'.. i held them up to my pair i bought a month ago.. i cant tell the difference... And PBUC told us not to dry clean them, it breaks down the material in the pants.. How do MiLB guys dry clean there pants?.....
