  1. Looking back over the summer, I worked thirty plate games with the D3O across two professional leagues and one collegiate wooden bat league. I took two shots directly to the chest and five to the right shoulder/clavicle area. I feel like the protection is solid and I never had any loss of confidence. In my opinion, the low profile appearance is its best feature. Every game from this summer was streamed with a solid center field camera view and the look is so solid. Gone are the days of looking like the lead blocker on a sweep play in Southwest Conference. For the last 20+ years umpires have been buying the West Vest if they could afford it. I honestly don't know how you'd pick a Wilson chest protector if you knew about the D30. Godspeed, @DerekGDS. I hope you're able to get the word out.

  2. This one adds another reason to the list. Don't need to get closer to someone that's going to spit in your face. Ugh.

  3. Horrible Grow some thicker skin or get out of the avocation. His first mistake was walking aggressively towards the coach on the 1B side, and then escalated his poor decision-making from there. He should never be allowed to umpire another game again.

  4. Thanks! This is the one I was looking for to see how similar my situation was with this... and my ruling was mostly influenced by this and the thread at that time. But, mine was a little different with a tag attempt for moving toward second base....

  5. I'll say the same thing I said on the LL call . . . If the colored bag was not there, the runner would not be touching anything and would still be considered as making their way to back to the white bag while protected . . . so why the heck would you consider stepping on the colored portion as some sort of violation?

  6. Only Clark Griswald was impressed with seeing Big Ben and Parliment after countless times. You've got to step up your game. Sent from my SM-F721U1 using Tapatalk

  7. Yes, @jimurrayalterego is correct, the base layer tights do not have a cup pocket. I wear them for working out, under shorts, (both no cup required) and on the bases. With my cat-like reflexes, no cup necessary on the bases. LOL sometimes, when I am feeling frisky, I come out to go to the grocery with just the tights and a mock neck on. Mrs. ThighPro is typically not impressed...............

  8. Was at a tournament last September, where a storm rolled in, you could see a funnel cloud forming in the distance, and there was lightning. One umpire suspended play for his game...another did not for his game. The one who suspended play got rebuked by the umpire association "leadership". The best part of this - this all occurred in the same town where a Little League player was killed by lightning 30 years ago, and was being played in a ball park named in his honor.
