Are baseball batting gloves part of the uniform or equipment?

Question

Quick rules question that came up during a recent discussion.

When it comes to baseball batting gloves, are they officially treated as part of the player’s uniform, or are they considered separate equipment?

I’ve seen situations where things like loose gear or accessories can affect rulings (HBP, interference, detached equipment, etc.), so it made me wonder where batting gloves actually fall in that classification.

For example:

If a ball contacts batting gloves that are being worn or tucked in a pocket, does that get treated the same as hitting the body?

Are there any restrictions on how they’re worn (loose, hanging out, etc.)?

Does NFHS handle this any differently compared to OBR or NCAA?

I’m curious how others interpret this and if there’s any clear rule reference that defines it.

Especially if he was wearing it while it was being stamped.
Kinda serious here in that the second most delicate part of the body, behind the head and face, are the family jewels. Yet, there isnt a certification on the impact the cup can take or the protection it will provide.

Staring at the catcher's crotch to notice the stamp would be awkward though...

If a BATTING GLOVE is in the batter's back pocket...and the glove only is HBP, is the batter legally and properly equipped? Asking for a friend...

Yes... because the proper location for them is in the back pocket when not being used. This has already been established by rule and common sense.

Common sense and fair play. Pitch is thrown behind the batter and it hits the batting glove in the back pocket. Are we really going to keep the batter at home plate? No. We are not.

Who is "we"?? This is my game, and in my judgement, that 13-year old kid doesn't / shouldn't need to have another set of batting gloves, or an (oversized) sliding oven mitt spilling out of his back pockets on his scrawny arse! He's not wearing his uniform properly! This wouldn't be tolerated back when I was playing!

Heck, I know I'm right on this one! We discussed it at our association meeting at the Kiwanis Lodge back in January. Louie even brought out his casebook! Even though we had this new guy in the group, who had just gone to Ump School, what does he know? I've been calling ball games while he was in diapers.
