Haven’t seen him up lately, if at all in 2025 after being a somewhat regular fill in. Did something happen?

while on heavy catnip, i checked may and june and through july 11 stats and riggs is working away in MiLB

now to your main question, i am not privy to that information.

i can give the stats you probably already know 2020 call up---15 games

2021 call up--128 games, 2022 call up 120 games, 2023 call up games 97, 2024 call up games 72. so, since 2021 number of games going down. all i would assume is the more games the bettor towards making full time MLBU.

Riggs seemed like more of a regular than that in the recent years. Enjoyed watching him work. Feel like he’s on the verge of being released.

Is that still the career path in MiLB? "Up or out" Off to NCAA.

A full schedule of SEC, Big 12, Big 10 or whatever probably pays better than MiLB and the season is maybe shorter.

I would think a 14 week schedule in those conferences pay quite a bit better than an MiLB schedule.

According to the website Umpire Scorecards, Jeremy has not yet worked a MLB game in 2025.

fixed that with bold. He has worked bases as late as 6/27/25 and has worked others.

well, in the super conferences that is 52 games at $1,000 per game for $52,000 and that does not include probably 1 noncon game for the same amount during the middle of the week and an extra $15,000 or about $65,000-70,000 full schedule but no health and dental which would com from a primary job since this is an advocation.

compared to MiLB AAA at $4,500 a month for 26 games or $173.00 per game or $26,000 for a 150 game season. and an extra $4,500 for being rated in the top 1/3rd or $2,250 for the 2nd third and $1,100 for the last third merit rated bonus at the end of year or $30,500, 28,250, or $27,100 total per year plus health and dental. so less than half the money for a 150 game AAA schedule versus a 66 super conference game schedule. and of course each has playoffs for some umpires, not all, that add to the total for probably the same per game amount or maybe extra since they are playoff situations, but maybe not.

Is travel & lodging paid, per diem, or out of pocket?

flight, lodging, and per diem (meals, etc) and car for crew chief are all comped outside of game fee. i think some conferences might do an all encompassing amount like 4k or 5k for the weekend to make everything all inclusive, where other conferences itemize so to speak each area.

For the whole crew not just the CC right?

So Jeremy has worked, just not behind the plate?

he worked both games july 2 of that double header in phillie that jimurrayalterego gave. he worked first and third. he worked the plate on july 4 in scranton wilkes barre in AAA. and yes umpscorecards only gives an umpires plate work, so, since he has not been listed in 2025, he has not worked a fill in game on the plate this year, just the bases. all his plate work has been in AAA.

Hopefully it's changed, but at one point the Big 10 paid a fee and out of that fee came flight & car rental for sure...unsure about lodging & per diem.
