I'm new to this, and I'm working in two different leagues with multiple age divisions per league.  As is common, each league and age division has different rule modifications, so I review the rules for my game shortly before I walk onto the field.  However, just to keep everything straight I started writing down the modifications FOR THAT GAME and keeping them in my lineup holder.  See pic; this is for tonight's game.

How are you guys doing it?

When I did multiple levels, etc, I created a spreadsheet with the 25 (or so) rules differences that mattered to me for the various levels.  IT still exists on the internet, somewhere (although the rules have changed so some of it is out of date).

You need to update it and share it... please. :D

No can do -- but here's the starting point.

Great idea.  Do whatever helps you as it can get confusing.

@mac266 I do the same as you do, if leagues have the same base rules (OBR or FED) but slightly different modifications for each.

Yeah, I was talking about league modifications.  I work in two different leagues and all age brackets.  Both use OBR, but the league mods are different between nearly every game.

Most of them fall into similar categories -- leadoffs, infield fly, D3k, runs per inning, mercy rule, CBO, reentry restrictions, ...

You can come up with those categories and list the rules for each league in a separate column in a spreadsheet and have the rules organized.

@mac266 that is a pretty good practice IMO.  I am the same way though, writing things down and keeping those reminders helps me learn.  I did the exact same thing on index cards that I would put in my line up card holder.  I still do it when I work a tournament that has different rules, even if it is something as simple as run rules or courtesy runners.

PS — good choice on your line up card holder!
