I recently just bought the 2019 MLB Umpires manual from the ABUA (Amateur Baseball Umpires Association Website) last Saturday. Still have not received a tracking number for it. Should I be concerned?  I was wondering if the CAA umpire mechanics are the same as the MLB umpire mechanics? Also, if anyone has the MLB 4 man umpire mechanics if they could pm the to me?

Thanks!

I would not do anything on that website myself but I couldn’t say if you should be concerned. I’m concerned that a former great umpire is or was involved with the site. The forums now suck. I never got a follow thru on a technical issue I had and no longer belong. I think someone involved with the site had an aviation incident and that might affect their capability.

It took awhile to get my insurance card,  but they have never failed me and always been easy to work with.  As for the insurance card I just sent them an email to remind them and received the card a couple of days earlier.

It did take a while for mine, but it arrived.

I am still a member (Umpire29) but have not been on there in ages. Like you say - it now sucks.

So... I was out of the umpire world for a decade before 2016... what happened that caused such a large falling out with that person

I think my wording was awkward. I have no falling out with any person. The site has gone downhill. I do not know what the year 2016 has to do with anything. But my take on things is that a person integral to the site was involved in an aviation accident and the loss of his  expertize? over a period of time appears to me to have caused the site to go downhill, at least forum wise, IMHO. And I did have a technical issue that was never addressed by whoever runs the site.

That is when the plane crash happened, FWIW.

2016 is when I got back into umpiring so I was out of the loop on everything.

Those are the forums I started on when I first got serious about umpiring. I then moved over here. I went to check out the forums a few years back and found them severely lacking in anything that would be considered worth while. I also found them extremely hard to navigate via mobile phone.

Their customer service is usually really good. I've ordered from them for years.

One of their websites is infected with malware though...so be careful...if you get popups to "renew flash" get out of dodge on that one.
