So no one from the other leagues is commenting? You'd think they'd be all over this. They aren't now (publically at least) and apparently no challenges were made at tournament time either.

Something's fishy smelling.  We don't know the source yet. One person's opinion as conveyed by a reporter isn't enough for me.

And the residence/boundary issue doesn't mean as much any more as a player can now live elsewhere as long as he is a student at a school within the boundary.

Did you know that your league's boundary map is proprietary:

So the long time DA quits, after not wanting to go along with signing off on players not eligible to play. New DA, from the league that's always pushing the limits, changes the lines, without consulting the prez's, and rubber stamps the players.

Niiiiiiiiiiiiice.

Nothing new, though. Locally we had a DA look the other way when two Dads rented a condo for residency, so a whole travel team could play in one league. She was caught, 'cause someone is always willing to rat you out. (Usually the Mom/Dad of the kid who didn't make the team).

The question is: Why did this take so long at the local level to bubble to the surface? I get why WP is dragging their feet, as they want no part of this for a lot of different reasons.

The accusation is that the person responsible for the verification at the district level (the district administrator) was the perpetrator.  The surrounding leagues don't have an opportunity to review other leagues' affidavits.

You aren't allowed to review another league's affidavit in case anyone is wondering.

Most rat-outs happen because a person from league B knows that a player in league A actually lives in team B territory.

Latest rumor on another board is that the person complaining isn't even from the same district.

Don't assume things. So far all we've heard is an accusation from a person from (latest rumor) another district.

For us it is only because it's the school district map which is produced by some third party.  We had to pay $xxx a few years back to get a copy. We don't use maps-r-us or whatever that system is.

So we need to ask whatever entity that publishes a district map showing all the league's boundaries for the benefit of anyone who would like to know who to call to register their player that they need to pull that map? Eg. maybe a city park website.

That would be someone from another district in the tournament. Who knows who dropped a dime to them butnit appears they have been pursuing it since August. Why the four offended leagues encroached on without their president's approval did not complain I don't know. Unless they didn't know they were encroached until now. It appears LL will get to the bottom of it. What emoticon should be inserted here?

Jackie Robinson West visited the White House and smiled with the Obamas, Al Sharpton gave them an A+ on national television, they bear the name sake of #42, together with Monet Davis they were the media darlings of the Little League World Series, they helped make the Little League World Series one of the most relevant sporting events of 2014, they are an emblematic symbol of hope and success for the inner city, whether the players were from an inner city or not, their coaches were class acts from start to finish, they and Monet Davis will be responsible for pumping millions of future corporate dollars into Little League and the LLWS, the players themselves played and conducted themselves with honor and distinction.  They made the nation root and cheer and watch.

Lance Armstrong, Barry Bonds, Tiger Woods?  Not in a million years.  Nothing to see here, Folks, move it along.

Little League International is going to do what it needs to do to keep the program in a positive light. In the old days the local league was sacred, and it was almost impossible to control the actions of a local league at the District level without an extreme amount of work and effort. LL International virtually never got involved with District/Local league affairs. I'm not sure if this is still the case with LL baseball.

Apparently no emoticon....title stripped, Dist Admin relieved of duty. The feel-good story ended up too good to be true

Something was rotten in the whole district because no one in the district complained.. The DA got relieved too, and a special administrator got appointed.

With that type of DA in charge they probably had to go along to get along.

I think LL did the right thing by stripping the US title from Jackie Robinson West great job LL

You can bypass the DA and go to region if the DA is part of the issue.  Also, the DA is elected by the leagues. If they don't like the DA then they can elect someone else.

You have to wonder why the neighboring leagues didn't ask at tournament time why a kid that played with them last year was playing with JRW this year. Maybe everyone was living in a glass house so no stones could be thrown.

It's Chicago....you don't rat out guys with clout. At least not without risk - the head of the Evergreen Park team that started this has received multiple death threats in the past couple days.

I haven't read anywhere anywhere that the problematic players played Little League at all in the previous year.  *shrug*
