20 second clock

So I'm watching the AFL game with the 20 second clock on the pitcher with runners on. Haven't seen it happen, but I was wondering, if F1 steps off and feints a throw to a base does the clock restart?

OK, Then doesn't that make this a ridiculous rule? F1,F2 can't agree on a sign, 20 second clock starts winding down. Step off and fake a throw.....Start again.

No, that doesn't make it a ridiculous rule. It's a good rule, inasmuch as it provides a means of keeping the game moving overall.

 

We have other tools with which to address obvious efforts to circumvent any rule, including this one.

Don't believe it starts over, but that it restarts whenever he steps back on the rubber. Can't stand the rule.

So if he gets down around 5 seconds, steps off, you might as well call the ball because he's not going to be able to get on the rubber, stretch, set and deliver a pitch before the clock runs out. 

 

I don't know....I'd rather see them try keeping the batter in the box first, see if that works before we start putting clocks on pitchers with runners on. I have no problem with a bases empty clock, just don't like the idea of messing with pitchers trying to hold runners on.

The coaches giving signs to the catcher to give to the pitcher takes up a lot of time

I agree with Stu. And, those stupid football style armbands with the plays enumerated on them. That slows it down quite a bit too.
