I think that was a cross-up ...........  Salvador Perez is a great catcher, and it looked like he was fooled (which looks like a feeble attempt)

Notice how the arm/hand moved backwards upon impact. If his hands were on knees (unable to move backwards upon impact), the injury would probably have been worse.    I liked how the trainer came out
