The long dark nightmare is over. The sun has risen and the baseball season has started!

 

Halle-freakin-lujah!

 

7 innings of decent HS varsity ball in 1:45;  good pitching, aggressive batters, and great pace. It was great to knock off all the remaining rust, hold an indicator, and yell, "Play!"

 

Now I can say it is springtime!

Congrats. My pre season was a complete zero. EVERY game cancelled. Looks like I'll be shaking off the rust April 1st in a game that counts.

I got two scrims in the pass two days, but man jv baseball is painful! Yet I know they are trying their best to get better so I make sure I bring my "a" game for them. I was told last night by partner that he hardly sees a jv umpire take charge and be so consistent with my game management and timing! Whoop that's all that 8 yr old and under beatings I got last year from @th3 lol.... Just kidding, it has been working aau summer leagues with varsity players and umpires that made me better today and hopefully the future! Can't thank the guys enough for showing me the ropes and now I'm trying to imply it all back on the field.

So all NJSBUA umpires I thank you!

First day of the regular season was cancelled here in Central Ohio on Saturday.  Rain all day and an inch or two of snow during the evening.

 

Monday-Wednesday looks promising at least.

Two months-wow. In 2 months our school year is nearing completion and this year my son and daughter will be graduating. Couldn't imagine waiting that long for first games, the season is over by then here.
