Just go Honigs. If you cant afford the PWs then get their ultimate pants. They are nice pants and fit the colors that everyone else has... including charcoal.

I recall seeing Cliff Keen pants many many many moons ago. Dont remember anything about them though.

As for the shins. I really like them SUPER light. Worked 13 innings in them last sunday (only game I have had due to the stupid rain). Legs were not tired and protection seemed more then adequate. Still trying to figure out if I want/need ankle protection. But if that is the only complaint, I can live with it.

I just got a pair of their charcoal plates and could not be happier with the color or cut...the only issue with them that I have is my 1.75 leather belt barely fits through the loops(tight).

 

Otherwise I really like them.

Spend the ten dollars more and get the Honig's poly wool pants. You won't have to buy slacks for years, Honig's are that good.

I also just ordered a pair of plate Cliff Kleens. I had a pair for 5 years, and was happy with the fit, and color. Looking at the color of them next to the new ones and they still look the same. No fading.  Just tried my new ones on tonight. They feel great. They just fit me well. The cut, etc.  Last year I ordered a pair of Smitty PW's. Hated them all year. Hated the expandable waistband. I had the local tailor sew the band in place. Also had a huge problem with the waistband rolling over the top. I'd finish a game, get to the car and see that top of the pants had rolled over the showing the inside white. They were comfortable, but for whatever reason, they rolled and were horrible at keeping my shirts tucked in them. Never owned a pair of Honig's PW's, mainly because I'm not a fan of having to get then dry cleaned every time they get dirty.

I've owned a few pair, believe they're very similar to Gerry Davis pants, and sold by GD as well.  No issues.
