So do two wrongs make a right here - should have been one out called on the play and that's what happened...

but the wrong out was called ..............and the run scored because of it .....

:-/

If they get both calls right, the run scores and runners are on 2nd and 3rd.

With both calls wrong, the run scores and runners are on 1st and 2nd.

Right?

I do like how MLB puts up FOUR announcer teams' review, just in case we didn't get it that two bad calls were made. Thanks, Pud, I GET IT! Classic anticipation at 3rd and just a miss at 1st. It happens. The world evens out in the end. But it wouldn't bug me to have replay avail in this situation. Yea it gets tricky on runner placement - better than being the lead on Sportscenter and the continual punching bag for idiots needing 3 slo-mo replays to see how 'obvious' that AWFUL call was.

Maybe 3 missed calls if the ball was foul. I could not really tell from the angle. But it was close.

But those were both really bad misses, those guys are paid big bucks to get things right and they were close plays but not really that difficult.  If I would have kicked either one of those in my LL assignments I'd feel like crap, and get grief!

I defy anyone to seriously look a fellow umpire in the eye and maintain that they would have called R2 safe at 3B before looking at a slow-motion replay.

When I saw this replay (before knowing what happened) I saw it .............but that wasn't on the field

Impossible to answer that unless it happened on the field

I would have been in position and got it right, he wasn't anywhere close to the bag.  Looking you and everyone else straight in the eyes!
