Hey fellas:

I'm new to this forum, I've read it for a while but I'm a first time poster.  I just wanted to get your opinion on a situation that I can't seem to get resolved.  I'm new to umpiring and needed gear.  I found shirts that looked nice and were a very good price.  So, I ordered three shirts from +POS (before I read a lot of negative posts on this forum and others).

Well, here's what happened...

I ordered three shirts on December 21, 2012.  I ordered a 3X Navy, a 4X Powder Blue, and a 3X Powder Blue (4X for plate, 3X for base). After not hearing anything back from them for five days, I contacted them.  They got back to me right away and said that the shirts were on the way.  About 10 days go by and no shirts.  I try emailing and no response.  I called the 800 number and no answer, but it says that the mailbox is full.  So I texted the number on January 8 (the business apparently routes their 800 number to a cell number) and got a quick response.  They guy said he wasn't scamming me and that he'd mail the shirts immediately, which he did.

Here are the problems that still exist.  He sent me four shirts instead of three, which is great (not really).  The only shirt he sent me that I actually ordered was the 3X Navy.  I'm a big guy and wear a lot of 3X, there is NO WAY that this shirt is a 3X.  it is an XL at best.  It is so tight I could barely get it on.  Now on to the powder blues.  He sent me three:  The one I ordered (a 3X for fed ball) was much too small like the Navy.  The other two (both 4X) fit OK.  The problem is that I can't wear either because one is the MLB blue and the other has red, white, and blue trim.  Also, the color on all three of the "powder blue" shirts is a green tinted color.

I have tried calling, texting, and emailing about this, but once again I get no response.

They did however include a free zero gravity mask with my order.  It seems very light.

Maybe I shouldn't complain because I got a free mask, but I didn't order a mask.  I ended up ordering Cliff Keen shirts and they are great.

I would at least like to return the shirts that I have that don't fit and the ones I can't wear.  I have four brand new shirts I can't wear.  However, no on at this company seems to really care.

I guess I should have read the reviews of that company prior to placing an order.  I just wish I could get shirts that I could actually wear.

That's my rant, and now I'm done!

Sell the shirts (on this forum or eBay), recoup some cash. Keep or sell the mask, move on lesson learned. Why keep beating your head against a wall...

Oh-welcome and have a great season!

That's probably what will happen.  I may donate them to the local LL.  I like the mask, it's very light.  But I've read some not-so-good things about it on this forum.  Thanks for the advice

Dan's a good guy.  I don't think he's scamming you.

I can't say that for 100%, but I've talked to him on the phone and the way it seems to me is that he's trying to run his family's business all on his own which is proving to be a challenge.

I think I used to have this mask before I got my silver diamond. It was a good mask that only bent a little due to my bag being hit by something heavy (no clue what that could have been) during the off season.

I remember when I first started out that  Plus Pos was the outfit to get all of your gear. Great service, great gear to go with it. I haven't ordered anything from them in ages. Didn't they go under and start over?

My understanding is that Dan's parents have passed away and he's trying to keep the business going on his own.

I don't know if that is 100% correct.  So don't take that as gospel.

There's an old thread on this forum or another forum regarding the history of the business.

But I agree with you.  Back in the day, +POS was simply THE place where you bought your gear.

I can join the list of guys who's first set of gear and clothes came from +POS. Next came Gerry Davis. Then Honigs. And now Ump-Attire. Its truly sad to see what became of such a proud company. A true industry leader. Now a hollowed out bombshell crater, a total dumpster fire of its former self.

my 1st order was last year with him(Dan) thru ebay. the equipment was fine but shipping and communication was horrible!

well i ordered on 1/10/13 and actually spoke with Dan re: a website problem (2x charging). it seems obvious with all the little glitches he has no webmaster.

so 2 wks later after speaking with him and him confirming the order would go out that day,  CC being charged, i have no merchandise and no response to phone calls or emails.

Elgin to Detroit aint THAT far.

got a clinic comin up and no shirts. it seems to me he is over his head. to bad the people behind the product arent as good as the product.

regretfully, i'm 3 days from initiating a CC dispute with my institution.

too bad for me and too bad +pos.

1 person to give him help might not be a bad idea!

well lo and behold i checked +pos( right after posting here), i had checked earlier in the day) to send another email and my order status has been updated to SHIPPED.

still no communication to me as such.

we'll see how long it takes to get to Detroit and if order is correct.

will update.

Good Luck!  I still haven't heard anything from him.  I can't wear the three shirts I paid for or the freebie he threw in.  If you ordered either a powder or MLB Blue, good luck.  The color is almost green.

I received +POS email about the GREAT sale they are having on their shirts . I need a couple shirts for the up coming season so I checked it out, after 6.95 for shipping it was not such a great deal . I can buy Smitty shirts from Purchase Officials on Ebay for literally a few cents more .   Purchase Officials offers free shipping on their shirts through Ebay, they offer great service, fast shipping, and I know the shirt will arrive as expected .  I have ordered multiple times from Purchase Officials and have never had a problem .

I ordered one smitty shirt from Purchase Officials and the shipping charge to Toronto was $12. In July i ordered two smitty shirts from Official Call in West Virginia shipped to Toronto Canada for $8. Pos was the best in the LATE 80s and 90s but today unfortunately they are running a mickey mouse operation with sub par apparel and equipment. That s too bad . Talking about shipping prices, I went to order two sets of wilsom umpire replacement pads from ump attire and have them sent to my friend  in port huron michigan and they quoted me $7.90. I never bought them. Also, last year i orderd from Honigs in Ann Arbor. I order umpire gear that weighed 14.6 pounds and got it shipped to florida for uner $10

got my 2 shirts a PB w B/W and a N w R/W, both are 2x. Now if they are 2x , Smitty 2x must be a 4x cuz i can fit them over my gear with no prob. the +pos 2x i could barely get over my bare skin. The PB shirt is actually1.5in wider and 1/2in longer than the N, so much for consistent sizing.

I really had my hopes up cuz i like their stuff but i cant keep callin balls so stop throwin em +POS!
