Wilson Platinum Question

I am sending my platinum to Team Wendy for retrofitting in a couple of days and was curious if they will remove the extra sternum padding or leave it. I would prefer to have it removed - has anyone here removed it or had theirs removed?

definitely a qquestion for the RGP (Fittske24).

There are a lot of big league and minor league guys that remove it. Since you are going with a TW retrofit , I would say it's probably not needed since the TW padding has better protection than the standard.

I don't believe that sternum pad has anything to do with what Team Wendy would be replacing. Can you find a picture of a Platinum without it?

I removed the pad on mine a few years ago, as have many of my buddies that own platinums. I also recently sent in my CP to be retrofitted by TW, but I am not sure if its their practice to remove the pad or not. I'm sure Sheilah from TW can answer that question though.

When you remove the padding from the platinum, the sternum pad is separate and permanent. I don't see why they would remove this.

I'm going to be sending my platinum into TW, for refit..........figure it should stay....

Lets look at it another way...if you're taking the stock pads off of your CP, if you don't like the sternum pad, take it off.

No other CP has it. If you don't have an opinion about it, leave it on.

I'm sending my old Platinum in, also, but I don't care one way or the other about that pad.
