So I'm working a usssa 12 u tourney game .

Lots of chirping and lawyer balling from. Both sides .

I'm working the dish

R1 and pitcher stops his delivery motion and I call a balk . I walk out to address the pitcher. shut down the barking from the DT bench and start to take my position when I hear my partner ejecting a coach. But which one ?? It wasn't clear of it was the 3 rd base coach or someone on the DT 3b dugout . The 3 b coach / manager starts walking off the field head down , but ohhh no my partners looking at the DT dugout and ejecting one of the asst coaches , who then goes off on me cause he just got dumped, and he's claiming it wasn't him and it was the 3 b coach .

I did t hear anything, fron where i was but my partner sure did , turns out he got a little confused with all the chirping and we still do n't know who said the electable comment . ( something about reading the rules )

Partner felt bad afterward .

UIC. Broke it down like this . If we hear

something and we don't know who said it then we should warn the coach that any thing else said from that bench will result in the manager ejection because he's supposed to control his bench .

I don't agree with your UIC. An ejectable statement was made, he thought he knew who it was. Nobody confessed so that coach goes. Guilt by association. If the 3rd base coach has the balls to admit it was him, it is possible to change it but that is highly unlikely. I tossed a coach one night in a men's league, confident I had the right corner. He professed his innocence but I dumped him anyway. The manager told me later that it was a fan/scorekeeper that was just outside the dugout. I told him to tell the scorekeeper he cost the team a coach.

I had an ejection in a Babe Ruth game where I wasn't sure who said it. The DT appealed runner leaving early from 2nd on fly ball to F9. I ruled safe. Someone from the dugout yelled that's two you've missed. I turned towards the dugout and said you're gone. Someone said which one. I said, whoever said that. The AC got up and left. Someone has to go when they show you up. It may not be the right guy, but it sends a message that you are not going to lay down and take crap.

Not that I disagree or agree with my wh my assignor said regarding how to deal with that situation in the future . I think his solution comes from a customer service , don't piss off the customer too bad .

I actually agree with not allowing to be shown up and ejectable offenses deserve an ejection .

If nobody is willing to fess up, you can let them know that it's pretty easy for you to figure out who the starting shortstop is from your lineup card as you are getting it out of your pocket...

A good job, as I see it, but was the italicized part truly necessary ??? :shakehead:
