I kiddingly said my platform would be," What am I going to do, screw it up?" Tough on the yard signs.

I was talking to a past council member and said to remember you will faced with people that aren't happy with you or a situation. I told him after 35 years umpiring that has happened before.

Make sure the police "back up" the umpires in the your city as well as those nearby (since our jobs have some similarities), rather than threaten them like blp79's Legion ejection post a while back, if any of them coach.

Very true. In our area they always supply an officer at all JV and Varsity games.
