In FED there was. For the 10th time he was faking talking to his team mates . The wad no ball to go get. This is unsportsmanlike.

WOW. Just WOW. I hope this is just a stage you are going through.

Is that really necessary? So there's a difference in judgment in what constitutes verbal interference in this case. I disagree with JAX's point (though I'm starting to question my position a bit). I don't see a need to insult him. This particular Barbaro seems well-beaten.

That's an insult? :question1:

Didnt we recently have a play here where with a runner at second all the infielders charged and yelled "bunt" and the pick off to second was caught by the center fielder? Does Jax have obstructionon that play too?

Had a team try that this weekend 2X..... Never worked.

Very similar. F1 feints to 2B, F6 F4 and F8 all start chasing the "ball". R2 breaks for 3B and F1 has him cold in no man's land. Perfectly legal according to the FED case book, but horses**t bush league in my book. Hope I never see it again. Garbage. Beat em with the bats and leather, not cheap bush tactics.

Had a team try this one too this weekend.... Would have worked perfectly except the pitcher took off running after the runner too soon and nobody was covering 2B and the R2 got back in time.

It was funny seeing it in person since I had read this thread the day before!! :notworthy:

Jax has you and I read enough to know what you were arguing. My point was the deke is fine, the dialogue to sell it is not. You can say he wasn't talking to the runner but he absolutely is. Have you never warned a coach for loudly "talking" to his coaches or players with the express purpose of busting your chops. He isn't talking to you, he's talking to his team, but you know he is absolutely shoving it up your butt.

LOL, yup got your point. Not that I didn't get Jax's point, I do understand what he's getting at with his position, and though I don't agree I have kept the discussion to just that, a discussion. It's like being on a field and seeing something for the 1,000th time, but all of a sudden a new/different partner does something I'm not used to seeing and the perspective is brand new. My perspective hasn't changed, but I have gotten a whole lot more to think about with it, Thanks Jax!

And Michael of course! :meditation:

I like good discussion. And I am one that is always trying to learn. Learned a lot from this site. BUT sometimes there are things that I believe are correct when others do not. And that is perfectly fine.

I am not trying to convince anyone that my way is the only correct way but others are trying to convince me that theirs is the only correct way.

We disagree and that's fine. Let's move on! Or Let's keep discussing! That's what we are here for!

Not an insult. There are many stages that umpires go through in their development. I went through them and have seen others go through them. It's natural. I hope it's a stage that will be rectified through experience not a set in stone belief that experience will never change.
