Right into the thigh. Adult league. The guy pitching was gunning it. Former D1 lefty pitcher that pitched in a regional and super regional (ironically went to school with the guy). Lefty batter just gets a piece of it (catcher was lined up to the outside) that came straight back into my right thigh. This is probably the most painful hit I have ever took. I think it actually broke a little skin at first. Took about 30 seconds to a minute to walk this one off, dust off the plate and get ready to go.

Wonder what colors this bruise will turn into over the next couple of days (this is just after one):

I think so, so long as I don't get hit in the same spot again, I may just cry.

That wouldn't be good.

Probably not. Only have two plate games to survive. One is basically high school ball, the other Pony Mustang, which may be dangerous because they can't catch at the division I'm doing. Though they usually don't throw hard, so give or take.

Though, it may be a bad sign that it hurts every time I push off on a step off my right leg. What doesn't kill me, only makes me stronger ;)

I took a similar shot 3 weeks ago and it's still very tender. While the bruise is gone, I can run my fingers over the spot I was hit and feel it. I guess it can calcify, but I think it will go away over time. My right thigh has been hit three times over the last 6 weeks (once on a 55 foot curve, once on a whiff by batter and F2, and once on a bounced foul), each time leaving a nasty bruise.

About 15 years ago I had an U14 travel game. Before the game my partner and I were watching the pitcher warm up. This kid was about 6 ft tall and weighed about 120. He looked like a spider out there. I said to my partner "oh! oh! he's pitching about 85 mph but the catcher is only catching about 60, this doesn't look good. Wouldn't you know it about the third inning a foul ball hits me on the shoulder. I went down pretty hard, my shouder cap had come away from my CP and I took it with no protection whatsoever. I tried to switch places with my partner but it was too painful to try and run. Another guy from our association was in the crowd and he took over for me. That is the only time I never finished a game due to injury.

Ouch. I could see why! Hope you didn't break anything. Those hits up there scare me on the shoulder protectors, since they seem they can always find the gap.

Jeremy,

That's why God invented hexpad tights.

JM

I think I regret laughing at that "why would I need that" product. Definitely ordering one or buying one today. I must listen to the wise around here because clearly I am not!

See if that link works. I'm either posting incorrectly or perhaps the hosting website thinks the picture is inappropriate haha!

Holy Crap! That looks like a 3rd degree burn, wow! :wow:

Invest in the hex pad tights, right now!

Mcdavid he pads. The only way to go. Guess how/we know. I also use the McDavid pads for my forearm/elbow. Not much else to cover up. Gotta love those coaches who put those four foot nothin catchers in there.

Haha. Yeah. It doesn't look normal. And yeah, I need them. Especially now, don't know what will happen if I take another shot there in the next few days.
