Chat room

Is the chat room active. Twice I have seen people in it but I can't see any posts including mine. It shows I am posting but not what it says.

It was active the other day. But hardly anyone ever goes into it, which I find sad. If you leave and comeback then your old chat is not shown, I believe.

If your'e on the "chrome version " (black background), you won't see your text ...... must change to 3.2

I've used it a few times and love it. I wish it were used more often also. Maybe if we could chat in a seperate box and browse the forum at the same time it would be used more.

OK, so I open two windows, one in chrome, one in 3.2. I get the best of both worlds.

You can have multiple windows open.

Right click on chat then select open in new window or tab and you can do both. ;)

Am I doing something wrong, but I do not think my chat room posts are posting. I have tried the press enter method and pressing the post button, neither of them seem to be working. What am I doing wrong?

Get out of the chrome version ....change to 3.2

Already done, still having the issue.

What browser? I just switch to 3.2 if I am chatting and then back to Chrome, which I prefer.

Interesting. I know this sounds like a bad idea, try loading the site through IE and see if the chat room works that way. If it does then go back into FF and either clear your cookies or if you have the patience then search through them and take out the ones associated with U-E. Try it in IE first though.

A couple of times today I would see one in the chatroom of the forum page, I go to it and nobody is there. I go back out to the forum page and it shows somebody is there. Any ideas?

It might update the number every 5 minutes or so.

No if you don't log out of chat by clicking leave, it shows you logged in until it times out.

I understand that too, but today it showed one in chat, I went to it but nobody was there. I signed out but it still showed there was one there, so I went back. Still no one. Very odd.

Now that we know that you have to be in 3.2 mode to use the chat, could we put a warning and instruction about how to switch on the page that says to keep it PG? We had several come and go and I suspect that was the problem. I put a thread in Free for All about it.
