Still two weeks until opening day in Norway (yes - the little land on the other side of the pond) and we got more snow today :big_no. This is my first year as an umpire, but the first umpire clinic was canceled because of the weather, so I am just a "umpire wannabe" :shakehead:

Where in Norway are you from? I used to live in Asker while my dad was stationed at Kolsas mountain. I loved it there and if they ever kick me out of Texas I will move back

Woah, flights? We talking island hopping flights or other flights?

Almost, in not in fact all, flights in Europe were grounded for several days.

I am 100% Norwegian  and fell in love with baseball after being on holidays in the US. Umpiring is going to be my way of taking part in this great game (shoulder problems = not playing)

I love Norway.

I got to spend 10 days in Trondhiem when I was in the Marine Corps.

Wonderful city.

And the women are beautiful.

Welcome to the board.

Welcome to the site dude. I'm European myself, but was born and raised in the U.S. Baseball's not too popular on the other side of the Atlantic, but I hear it's growing. My entire family and my wife's family is from Romania. I'm the only one I know with a Romanian heritage that loves baseball. Everyone else is all about soccer (football). Been to Romania several time and they claim that the game "Oina" was the origin of baseball. I did some research on the web, and there are some truths to this, but the records are dicey at best. Nobody truly knows how baseball got started, but I was destined to be involved in the game one way or another. It's in my blood. I'll get some info about Oina on this site one day. You guys will be amazed at how similar it is to baseball. Once again, welcome in, hope to get more Europeans into baseball.

Welcome to the board!!!! I visited Bergen when I was in the Navy (years ago). The cruise through the fjords to get to the harbor was fantastic! Everyone I met while I was there was super friendly. I'd love to get back there again some day.
