You'll have to check with your local czar. Some organizations are so backwards the don't allow a lot of things. No square millimeter of white on your shoes, hats under helmets, etc. Some even require blue ball bags, for gosh sakes. So ask permission from Mom before you even think about this, since the heroes on TV don't do it.

But it looks good, feels good, and is the right choice for temps under 60, where a jacket is too much. It's even slimming, for you, um, portly fellows, unlike those God awful short sleeved smocks that make you look like you're eight months along.

I wear the long sleeve shirts. Down here I might use my jacket 5-10 times a year and it is too much for those 50-60 degree days, but the jacket is perfect.

Just don't ever wear a long sleeve shirt under your short sleeve shirt. :angel4:

(what purpose does a sunshade serve? Nothing - thats what the bill of your hat is for, but it sure looks cool).

It seems to reflect the heat off the bill of your hat. I really do think it makes a difference. (and yeah, it looks cool too. Find a Marquart, as they have an irredecent look to them, and aren't as blinding to the pitcher.)

Sorry 'bout hammering the smocks. I see a big guy wearing one locally all the time. It's just so silly looking on him. I'll dial it down, promise.

You would still get made fun of around here (And a lot of other places too) for wearing a long sleeve shirt on the bases.

Just my opinion though.

I have to admit I was one of those wearing long sleeve UA under Short sleeves on a cool day. But now I have a couple of Umpire Jackets
