Hey Jm Yea this is Florida We do not even call off the 6:30 game for wet fields before 5;45 I have seen soft dirt around second 8 inches deep. Never mind cleaning the bases I have had to fill in holes after a slide. Wait till you see a front end loader drop his whole load of all dry and it takes 30 min to find home. This must be a baseball vs softball thing because I saw the first base Umpire cleaning first base at the Woman's Collage World Series with a brush !

I am trying to figure out why Baseball Umpires bother to even clean off home plate. Home needs to be spotless, but you could plant tomatoes with the dirt covering second ?

ISA Softball Fast Pitch World Series Between every 1/2 inning 3 person crew Plate Umpire Cleans Plate 3 base ump cleans Third and pitchers mound 1st base Ump cleans 2nd and first Lots of times the Ump who had the base call on a slide then would call time and clean the base Sometimes we have a breakaway base at second and we have to clean and reset it. "My partner on first base yells "dead ball". Yea maybe they ment to call ''foul ball''. I thought that when a ball hits the batter it is the plate Umpires call I mean they are what less than 4 feet away from the batter ? I am at least 65 feet away I only help on that call, if I am asked by the plate Umpire You can assist and turn a called fair ball into a foul ball. But unless its on a home run, how would you turn a foul ball call into fair ball ?

I want a ball bag, with a built in towel liner so I can tumble dry wet softballs.

Ok sorry I am known as the fun Umpire Sorry guys Some of Disney's rules are unique and I thought you guys might get a laugh. I have seen Disney Security remove a fan for smoking at a youth event. I don't know how many security guards it takes to remove a fan but they bring enough ! Plus you would know if you ever worked the back Hess fields the parking lot is 1/4 mile away

I was the base Umpire at a girls 12U fast pitch tournament. I am in the B slot and the runner on 1 gets banged out by me trying to steal second. Here comes a dad running onto the field from the third base side yelling about the call. He is yelling She is safe she is safe. He runs about 3/4 of the way over towards me and he slows down and notices I am 6'5 330 pounds and he stops. I then announce very loudly to the crowd. "It's ok folks he just wants to be sure his little girl was not injured". "Yes Sir I called her out but she is ok and safe''. You can walk her back to the bench. The dirty look she gave him while they walked back to the dug out was priceless.

I don't know, in slow pitch softball we have two man crews. I had a plate Umpire who wanted to make every call except those at second. He was pretty dang fast and was used to single man crew so I let him. Even if I booted a call all I had to do was give up the appeal and now it was his call to. Since I did not have an ego these games were one step above collecting money for a forfeit !

Here is the correct response. Signal time and walk to where you are facing the offending team or dugout then say. Time! Weiß jemand hier SPEEK Spanisch? We then tell them that If there is a problem with a player we will call "time' in the same tone as our ball call. We will then look in our book for the Head Coach's name Then we will walk over to that player's Coach and say "Coach________ player number xx is disqualified. Please remove them from the game Now if the Head Coach refuses to remove a player or is themselves the problem, we pull out our line up book and ask for the name of the New Head Coach Now we say Replacement Coach______ your Head Coach is disqualified. Please remove them from the game. They get the hint

My UIC said that there are Umpires slower than me. He also said that there are Umpires better than me. But he finished with the statement " But Big Del, there are no Umpires better than you, who also are slower than you ! Thanks ?

I am kinda huge so most coaches never yell at me. I did have a coach walk over to me after a close call at third and hand me his cell phone. He said," Here Blu,e mine works good and you have been missing calls all day !" Curses !

I run my game how I run my game. You want to appeal my call to the site director, roll the dice and take your chances. I eat breakfast 30 yards from 40000 fans who are trying to taunt me, so don't think for one second that you can come down here, flash a rule book, and make me nervous.

Hey guys I am in Florida and here is what I do.
