System7 Allstar vs.UNDER ARMOUR SOLID PRO HEAD GEAR HELMET
amarillo replied to AE1M's topic in Umpire Equipment
So it appears that the UA helmet is in fact the All Star 2500 rebranded then they are charging an extra 20 bucks for the logo Honigs 149.99 UA All Star 129.99 on Ump -Attire I could use that 20 bucks for another UA undershirt.... -
Wait what rule set in OBR isn't obstruction an immediate dead ball? in that case 2nd and third in fed score em both!
-
I am going to go with score them both. Two bases from time of throw. Okay tear me to shreds....
-
So who is going to be the guinea pig to see if the Diamond equipment bag really is just 50 bucks and really is what they send you

Patent leather belts should be reserved for Santa Claus only IM(Humble)O
-
I have heard they are not even close

So in FED pitcher in the middle of his delivery and the batter steps out ,It is a strike for leaving the box and then if the pitcher continues and delivers home you call the pitch a strike as well making two strikes on one pitch? What if the pitch is a ball??
-
Just a thought and maybe not even close but the loophole could be that the runner in the rundown was obstructed by a fielder without the ball so a play wasn't being made on him and that makes it a delayed dead ball allowing the play at the plate to happen.
-
Why do you think there is no correct answer? Just curious and what is your debunking of each option?

After reading that post I sent an email to my rep asking when our dress standards instructional day (a great idea) is going to be Side note: Are the Smitty and Honigs pants close enough in color to pass the standing next to the other umpire test
-
Dang I wonder why Wilson hasn't addressed this and at least made them detachable
-
On a scale of 1 to 10 ten being Smitty to the max how bad would it be if I chose not to cut off the metatarsal plate on my wilson platinum shins over my soon to be aquired Reebok low cut plate shoes? Side note anybody know if Honigs or Ump Attire or any other site price matches?? I really don't want to pay shipping from three different websites to aquire my allotment of gear this year. May wind up walking over to my local store for a gouging

Not unlike the play in football where the qb announces there is something wrong with the ball and then when the defense is lulled the qb then runs down the sideline for the easy touchdown. While a strong statement to the moral and ethical decay of our society it is not outside the rules of the game. It is not our job to be the morals/scrupples/ethics police.

the same site is having a sale on their Majestic shirts as well

Annual... Game Fees Question... Let's see who got a raise or not
amarillo replied to TX-UIC's topic in High School
I had never seen a dime of draw money until the playoffs. -
I vote the malicious contact supercedes the obstuction as well however let this simmer... Had the obstruction not occured the play at the plate would not have been as close thus negating the need for the runner and catcher to contact.

Also in Texas same for JV as for Varsity plus in the panhandle it actually pays better to work the small town schools we have one that is a 300 mile round trip so the check from it is 200 bucks -
Slo8140 Definately correct about it being a bad time to be OOS. In March I will be eyeballing a new skycaddie so no funds available then and then in September my monetary needs focus on what new product will help me knock more birds out of the sky, oh well guess I will just stick to my Texas Longhorns duffel for my gear unless of course Pete takes pitty on this striving to be better umpire and sends me his sample at a discount :D

Okay I called and talked to the No Errors folks and they gave me a little more info. It is a new product releasing at the end of this month however they are already back ordered dimensions are 30x16x18 slightly wider and taller then the Diamond. It will stand on its own and when in standing postion an internal hook allows your garments to hang Maybe we can get the MId west ump blog to do a product review.....
-
Has anyone seen The Blue from Gearguard it is part of their No Errors line of bags. In my opinion it is waaaay over priced at 200.00 but in its description it mentions being able to hang your clothes, larger than normal wheels and a separate compartment for shinguards... I saw it on Anaconda sports web page and it is a call to order item. I have never heard of that brand but like I mentioned above there are some interesting features to it. Gear Guard No Errors The Blue Umpire Equipment Bag Features: Designed specifically for umpiresThe garment compartment let's you hang your umpire uniform, and keep it wrinkle and dirt freeFront locker system keeps items stored away in an organized fashionFATBOY wheels for added stabilityEasy to access shin guard storage section is separate from the rest of the storage compartments, so other items will stay clean, even if your shin guards are dirtier than dirt itself

I wonder if the Reeboks with the logo will be on sale soon?
-
As anyone not living under a rock knows these days Mark Cuban is in the running to buy the Texas Rangers and I have seen several reporters make comments about his actions towards referees at Mavs games carrying over to the Umpires at Rangers games. Just was wondering what the group thought of such a well known vocal person becoming an owner. Good or Bad for baseball?

Kinda a force or a force? and JJB you cannot assume an out just like you cannot assume the double play
