does anyone know where to get the best prices for the pro nine chest protector and wilson dyna lite mask? also im a 5'8" guy around 215lbs any clue on what size cp. i'm only going to be doing LL levels this year.

I usually check Ump-Attire first. I know they carry both of these products and I got my dyna lite mask there. The prices are really good and the service in absolutely unbeatable.

I concur. Only thing ump-attire is missing is pant hemming, I don't know how. Also, maybe patch sewing if you send it in. The place I went to put everything too far apart, crooked and/or off center. Though you can't really tell.

I went to Hit Run Score.com or something like that. I bought a chrome molly Wilson for 64.99. That is substantially cheaper than anybody else has them. And it comes with the black leather wrap around pads - same as the higher priced companies.

Be a smart shopper when you're comparing prices check out the tax (if it applies) and shipping and handling charges. Company "A" may have one of the products less expensive than company "B" but you negate your savings by paying 2 S&H charges and could even end up paying more.

Also look at free shipping. Last year I bought my CP and 2 pairs of pants from Ump-Attire which was just under their free shipping limit so I added a cap or ball bag to meet their free shipping limit and actually saved money by buying more...

I'll never forget paying $6.95 shipping (my first mistake-but unavoidable I guess) for 2 shirt numbers (average price for the numbers in comparison) from a certain company only to have them delivered in an envelope with a 32 cent stamp on it...

I complained via email and phone and got a nasty email back from the owner himself after I informed them I would make sure that I passed the word about their "ripoff" (was the term I used) to folks on "that other board".

It's not a company that I see around here but I have heard their name mentioned a couple of times. I would have bought straight from Jim at U-A but at that time they didn't carry numbers yet..

Here's another tip for numbers I heard somewhere. If you live near a college town find out where the fraternities get their letters sewn on their shirts they would probably be able to make numbers for you too and sew them on. Just make sure you know the sizes required by your association.

I remember I just had to by the materials at a piece goods shop and bring them in to get my fraternity letters sewn on.

I wanna learn to hem pants and sew so I can do all that myself and so I can choose whatever pants I want instead of only buying from those places that hem. I love the numbers at ump-attire, we wear regular navy shirts. We don't care what type number everyone uses, but I like the red on blue on white numbers, I just wish they were shorter actually. I don't like just the red on white and I hate the font for them, looks so cheesy.

The best price I have seen for the Pro Nine is $57.99 sold by Umpire Express. HOWEVER, I personally had a bad experience with Umpire Express, so I cannot recommend this company.

The Pro Nine is also sold for $59.99 at A Perfect Game. I have never done business with A Perfect Game, so I have no opinion of this company.

For $5.00 more you can buy from companies with solid reputations:

Between the Lines, $64.90

Ump Attire, $64.95

As for the Wilson Dyna Lite, the best price I have seen is $41.99 from Hit Run Score. Again, I have not done business with this company, so I can't offer an opinion.

For a little more money you can buy from Ump-Attire at $47.95.

Remember to check on the shipping and tax (as Warren stated) and look at comparable products. Combining shipping from one dealer might save you money also (like buying both products from Ump-Attire).

There's got to be a tailor shop near you. Most dry cleaners will hem pants in my town. I get mine hemmed higher in the front than in the back. Then you don't get the bunched up look at the top of your plate shoes that most guys get when they're standing up.

A friend of mine told me about a website called epicsports.com. He got a WV Platinum for $123.00 and shipping was 10 bucks. They seem to have some pretty good pricing, and my friend was happy with the service. No delays in shipping, just took a week to get his WV. I paid $149.00 for my platinum last year, and like $13.00 shipping, so he beat me by about 20 bucks.

They have a dynalite for $67.19 with leather pads, and $78.69 with amaura suede pads. Not sure how that compares with the other guys out there, but it sounds reasonable.

Edit: After looking at ump-attire, they have the mask for 45 bucks, so it looks like you just have to pick your spots on where you buy what. I know that epicsports place does have good deals on the WVP and Gold though.

There probabl-i is, but after the patch sewing job I got, I don't trust anyone locally. I don't have a problem with any bunching or anything, I wear low-cut plate and base shoes and get the hem a little shorter than my normal dress pant.
