In the best systems:

Unless there is a play on the batter runner, the “orange” half simply “does not exist.”

If there is a play, the defense essentially gets to choose its side (based on the play) and the runner goes the opposite way.  So on a UK3 on the foul side, F3 sets up on orange and the BR goes white.

This would work well with the new MLB “expanded” lane.

The worst systems start to try to add in all kinds of exceptions and unique situations which undo the purpose.

This is the only place I have heard of this.

Then again, IHSA quit replying to me when I asked where I could find written confirmation that we use courtesy runners.

In an interesting twist, I'm hearing that not all of the states received this memo.

Can any other states confirm outside of Texas?

We have seen nothing from our state. (And if anyone asks, I never saw it here either)
