NFHS Rule Changes for 2024

I have said this my entire umpiring career:  The rules committee can give you a hundred reasons for putting a rule in the book.  The next day, it can give you a hundred reasons for changing it or taking it out.  Fact of life.

If they really want to do this right, ... every state should have some sort of statement like the above

Do you have a cite @BigBlue4u?

The only eye black addressed by CIF I can find is 2023 and it's "hope for the best" https://www.cifstate.org/sports/baseball/rules/2023_COACH_UMPIRE_MEMO_final.pdf 

No mention in 2024.

I’m shocked that California is even allowing eye-black to be applied at all, what with it causing cancer. 
 

According to California, everything causes cancer. 

Although, I’m fairly certain some teenager’s family lawyer will defend their client in a hearing with… “Your honor, James believes that the protuberance beneath his mouth, that many others call a “chin” is, according to him, his nose.
