Bases were loaded 2 outs. Ground ball hit to third and he tags our runner after runner crosses home plate. Umpire said run scores. I thought that that was still considered a force out and no run scores. What am I missing?  Again we were up and it benefited my team.

Our runner from 2nd never made it to 3rd. Instead of running into the tag at 3rd he ran back to 2nd and got tagged out in between 2nd and 3rd. Again bases loaded 2 outs and our runner at 2nd never made it to third and was tagged out.

If the third out was made on a runner who was forced to advance to his next base then no runs can score. It does not matter whether the bases was tagged or the runner was tagged. If he was forced and was put out before reaching the base he was forced to, no runs may score.

The umpire is one of thousands (millions?) of people who believe touching the base is a force, anything else is not.  Not all forces touch the base, and not all base touches are forces.

For your benefit, and the umpire's, "force" is a status applied to the runner NOT the method in which he was put out.  If the runner is forced, then him being put/called out in any fashion (tag him, touch the base, interference, going out of the baseline, etc) makes it a force play, and all relevant rules apply, including runs not scoring.
