it looks like from tracing some MLB scores, that Lance Barksdale has not worked a plate game since 9/18/2019,  in Houston, (since his DS was a sweep and Cedarstrom worked the last HP). He was at first base on 9/22 and then cannot be found. That leads to the assumption the crew either had their final vacation week the last week of the season or were in replay.

But being 5th for the plate, 10/27 if there is not a sweep in the upcoming WS or rainouts means he will walk in with 38 days off from his last plate job.

Mr. B will now get some plate work. Barksdale was the new hire back during the 2006 season, for Joe Brinkman, when Joe retired on July 2. Worked 13 1/2 years in MiLBU starting in 1993, and worked 792 (basically 6 years worth of being a full season of games now) call up games before becoming full time MLBU at 39 years old. So basically 6 + 13 = 19 years of service working a full schedule of games and having a 'well known by the stats ball/strike acumen' to get to a WS. Long overdue well deserved opportunity by the stats.

And of course cudos for Mr. Hoye who had 734 call up games or basically 6 years worth of games before signing full time in 2010, also now getting a WS after 16 years. Overdue In this instance also IMHO.

In old days after rotation system was switched to merit system Richie Phillips still felt every umpire should receive a WS assignment once every 15 years. That way if you could take retirement after 20 years and wanted to, you would have received one WS in your career.

also, odd how that's not review-able, seems like a easy one to see on replay

Seems a really odd miss on the rules for replay - looks like most interference calls are not reviewable....appears to be only INT on DP's, spectator INT and collisions at home plate.

I joined in about the 3rd /4th inning last night. I did see the CI. That was unfortunate. But I thought the entire crew did well. While I dislike Porter's head height, he called a heck of a game. Also, Eddings stood out at first. 

While I find it odd that CI isn't reviewable, from my own experience, I find many instances are nips of the glove that may not be conclusively caught on replay and that you are relying on the sound which in that environment would be virtually impossible. Unfortunately that was a little more than a nip.
