runner on third, two out. 1-1 count on the batter. pitcher delivers pitch, batter swings and misses, runs to first base, catcher misses pitch. runner from third comes home when catcher throws to first to put batter out. what do you call. MLB rules

Nothing.  Run scores.  Batter returns to plate to complete at bat.  There was only two strikes.  The catcher should know better than to try to get the batter at first base.

I call the newspapers.  They reported a couple of weeks ago that the circus had ended its run.  Apparently, that turns out to be fake news.

We had a similar situation, except R1 and R3 and 2 strikes with one out. R3 scored, R1 advanced to 2B on the throw to first. Defensive coach wanted a penalty for the runner attempting to make the run. While the umpire pondered, I, as a coach, countered with, "If you penalize the runner for not being sure of the rules, you need to penalize the defense for the same." Play stood.

Curious ... I don't have any rulebooks handy but isn't there some form of interference in intentionally deceiving the other team ? What would be an example of that ?

i do know that when a retired runner keeps running the bases to draw a throw it is interference. this sounds similar.

Not exactly. OBR 6.01(a) It is interference by a batter or a runner when: (5) Any batter or runner who has just been put out, or any runner who has just scored, hinders or impedes any following play being made on a runner. Such runner shall be declared out for the interference of his teammate.... Comment: If the batter or a runner continues to advance after he has been put out, he shall not by that act alone be considered as confusing, hindering or impeding the fielders.

You would have to be pretty sure to the inner workings of that runner's mind to know that was their intent, and not simply running because they thought it was a dropped third strike.
